We love when the kiddos join us in the clinic! Makes for a fun day for the midwives and an educational one for the littles 💛

At Alma, we invite the whole family to be a part of the birth and care journey. From our sibling lending library to toys in clinic, your well kids are always welcome!

If you’re pregnant and looking for birth center options, we encourage you to set up an open house tour—and of course, bring the older kids if you’ve got em!

Ever wondered how midwifery care supports freedom of movement during labor?

That’s where the handheld Doppler comes in. Using intermittent fetal monitoring, midwives can check in on your baby’s heartbeat without limiting how you move. You’re free to labor in the positions your body asks for — standing, swaying, hands and knees, or in the tub — and we follow you there.

We listen in at regular intervals (typically every 15–30 minutes, and more frequently during pushing) to support both safety and autonomy throughout labor.

Curious to learn more about intermittent vs continuous fetal heartbeat monitoring?
Our latest blog post breaks it down. Link in bio.

Also, thank you to our model Lilah, who is comfortable in front of the camera and a pro behind the camera! Check out her work here:

Poppy! 🌺The second baby of the New Year arrived minutes after the first baby. Her Mama rocked her out in the Lilly Room into her Father’s hands, with Grandma near by for support. It’s a happy day at Alma when two souls decide to enter back to back to bless the New Year!

Alma welcomed its first baby born in the birth center in 2026 in the most beautiful way. Cedar arrived in the Fern Room through his mom’s strength and tenacity, greeting the wee morning hours with a strong cry to announce his presence. He is Native American, and his birth felt especially meaningful to all of us.

Thank you to everyone who filled this basket with such loving goods and services 💛🥰

Let’s Celebrate Jodi! 🎉

Jodi Stricker Greene completed her one year Fellowship at Alma!

Join us for a Luncheon Celebration Open House at Alma on January 30th from Noon-2:00 PM

Did Jodi bring her bright smile and capable midwifery skills to your care? How did Jodi impact your pregnancy, birth or postpartum? Let’s share the love with her in the comments 💛

Jodi joined Alma as an Apprentice in 2022 and after sitting the NARM exam she earned her CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) and became an Oregon Licensed Midwife. She stayed on with Alma for a one year Midwifery Fellowship to deepen her midwifery skills. She was recently married and is in the process of purchasing a home! Lots of life happening for Jodi and we are so happy for her. You’ll see her around Alma working Per Diem and she plans of lots of hiking time with her pups 🐶 & more time for crafting 💛

Meet baby Lee! He was born in the Lily room, right in the same exact spot as his big sister, during a busy baby booming night!

Both midwives Janelle and Olivia had the honor of attending both of these cuties’ births.

So bittersweet sending these families off to the next chapter! Bye bye baby Lee 💛
