Join a group practice! Beat the system! Did you know that insurance companies make people in Private Practice sign a contract that says they won’t disclose their rates?!?

That’s how they work us to the bone!!

Oregon has had a lot of therapists starting private practices because the Medicaid rate is public and so high. This is a new thing.

The system is slowly changing, but you can vote with your dollars and your time….

I know that lot of Oregonians are sick of “Therapist shopping” but I endorse it. Find someone who’s a good fit.

Find someone who has worked in community mental health.

Or at a psychiatric hospital.

Ask good questions to all your providers, your life depends on it.

And healthcare providers, I love you, but all of you need to step it up. Especially primary healthcare providers who have little to know education in behavioral health.
