💍✨ 72 Years of Love! ✨💍

Yesterday, we had the incredible honor of celebrating a love story that has stood the test of time. In the spirit of the month of love, our beloved residents Sandy and Darleen renewed their wedding vows after an extraordinary 72 years of marriage.

The Dining Room was filled with family, friends, fellow residents, and staff who gathered to witness this beautiful moment. There truly wasn’t a dry eye in the room as we watched them reaffirm the commitment they made more than seven decades ago.

It was a very special afternoon and a reminder that true love only grows stronger with time. ❤️

February Resident of the Month - Sam B!
Sam was nominated by staff for his wonderful smile and spirited personality. You’ll often see him strolling through different areas of the building, proudly showing off that million-dollar grin and brightening everyone’s day along the way. If you see Sam around, be sure to congratulate him and share in the celebration!

February Employee of the month: Lo**ta Williams!

According to Lo**ta's glowing nomination: Lo**ta has worked at Edgewood for a whooping 23 years. Amazing . Lo**ta has boundless energy and treats the residents like Kings and Queens. She just loves to pamper her residents and turn a regular shower into a spa experience. You can often find her doing that little something extra that has always been "the Edgewood way".

Lo**ta often works very long days and is just as kind and accommodating at the end of the day, as she was at 7AM.
Lo**ta has a great sense of humor which is so refreshing and the residents love it. She takes care of the whole person including making sure the residents room and belongings are neat and tidy and home like.

A team player, hard worker, exceptional skills and you can easily see, she loves her job. What more could you ask for.

🌟January Employee of the Month - Theresa Loundon 🌟

Since joining our team in September of 2019, Theresa has quietly, confidently and competently worked within our Food Service Department. Theresa is incredibly dependable, always on time, rarely missing a shift, always completing her tasks thoroughly and on time. Theresa has an amazing attention to detail and knows more about the resident's dietary needs and preferences than you could imagine! Thank you Theresa for your many years of dedicated service!

Bill is a man of many talents and many hats and he’s always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needs it. Known affectionately as a true jokester, Bill keeps everyone smiling with his quick wit and friendly personality.

Above all, his greatest joy is his family, who mean the world to him and love him just as much in return. You’ll often spot Bill getting his steps in as he walks around the facility, greeting familiar faces along the way.

🎄December Resident of the Month - Laura W ❤️
Laura was nominated by many staff members for this special honor, and it’s easy to see why. She is a welcome presence at almost all of Edgewood’s activities and especially enjoys music, movies, and bingo. Laura is an awesome karaoke partner and always brings great energy to the room.

With her wonderful laugh and warm smile, Laura brightens the day of everyone around her. She is truly a joy to be around, and we are so grateful to have her as part of our family!

Once referred to by a resident as the prototype for all nursing assistants! Robin has spent the past 23 years caring for residents on all units at Edgewood. Robin is steadfast in her dedication, methodical in her care of the resident and entertaining to all she encounters!

On Friday night, we joined the Portsmouth's Annual Illuminated Holiday Parade once again! 🎄✨ Our residents had a wonderful time waving to the huge crowd from our brightly decorated (and nice and warm!) bus. A big thank you to our amazing maintenance team for transforming the bus with festive décor and getting us through the parade safely 🚍💡❄️ We’re already looking forward to next year! ❤️🎅🏻

We’re proud to support our community! We hope our neighborhood Veterans enjoy a wonderful breakfast tomorrow at the Portsmouth NH Senior Activity Center and that the pies we donated bring a little extra sweetness to their day. It’s our honor to give back to those who’ve given so much.

We are getting excited! 120 pies are in our possession for this Thursday, Nov 13 Veteran's Breakfast at the Senior Activity Center thanks to our generous friends at The Edgewood Center. Every attending veteran will receive a pie to take home.

The event is sold out! We cannot wait to thank our veterans in the company of each other, City officials, staff and volunteers. 🇺🇸

Thank you to everyone who helped us honor and celebrate our Veterans today. Your support made this day very special. We would like to give a big thanks to the Beacon Hospice team for helping us with our ceremony. Most importantly, thank you to our Veterans for your service, sacrifice, and strength. We are grateful for you, today and always. 🇺🇸

Thank you for answering the call to serve; your dedication is a true inspiration to us all! We hope you can join us today as we celebrate our heroes at two ceremonies: 11:00 AM in our Main Living Room and 11:45 AM on our South Wing.

It’s a tie and it’s no surprise why! This month, we’re celebrating the dynamic husband-and-wife duo Darleen and Sandy, nominated together for their constant positivity and contagious good vibes!

You’ll spot them at just about every activity, cruising through the halls, greeting everyone with a smile, and spreading kindness.

And as if that’s not enough to celebrate, they’re marking their 72nd wedding anniversary this month! 💗

We’re so lucky to have them as part of our Edgewood family!
