Ronald "Ron" Pollard, Jr.

Portsmouth Resident

FC Daehler Mortuary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Pollard Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on February 28, 2026, at the age of 67. Ron was born on August 13, 1958, in Portsmouth, Ohio, where he spent most of his life enjoying the company of family and friends.

Ron graduated from Portsmouth West High School in 1977 and went on to work for over a decade in maintenance at the Scioto County Jail and Courthouse, as well as at Roger Hemming Construction. His dedication and hard work were well-known, but it was his warm spirit and infectious laughter that truly made him stand out.

An avid golfer, Ron was a proud member of the Elks Country Club, where he spent many joyful days on the course. He had a passion for snow skiing and cherished the time spent outdoors, often bringing his loved ones along for the ride. Above all, Ron adored his family. He was the life of every gathering, always ready to crack a joke and make everyone laugh. Whether it was getting down on the floor to play with the grandkids or creating silly moments during family gatherings, he always brought joy and light to those around him.

Ron is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Julie (Nee Eastwood) Pollard; his son, Kyle Pollard of Eastgate; his father, Ronald Pollard Sr.; his siblings, Teresa (Chip) Queen of Rosemount, Donald (Diana) Pollard of West Portsmouth, and Mark Pollard of Portsmouth; and his cherished granddaughter, Piper Grace Green, God daughter Alli Jo Hall of Mansfield, OH, special cousin Tammy Harris of Portsmouth, and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Ron was preceded in death by his loving mother, Martha (Nee Ferguson) Pollard.

Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Ron's life on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at FC Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street, Portsmouth, OH.

The family looks forward to sharing stories and laughter, just as Ron would have wanted.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SOMC Hospice.

Julie and Kyle ask that if you could please leave a favorite story or memory of Ron on the website, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return. Rest easy, Ron-you will forever be our jokester and our joy.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dee Jackson, a cherished mother, devoted friend, and compassionate community member, who left us on February 25, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on February 9, 1970, Dee called Portsmouth, Ohio, her home, where she spent over 15 years as an Administrative Assistant for the Portsmouth City Municipal Court. In her role, she touched the lives of many, always bringing her warm spirit and incredible dedication to her work.

Dee had a heart full of love, which she extended far beyond her family. She dedicated herself to uplifting the Scioto County community, working tirelessly with homeless shelters and drug rehabilitation centers. Many have been blessed by her encouraging words and acts of kindness; it was not unusual for her to take phone calls at all hours of the night, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand.

Her son and daughter in law, Philip and Rose Williams, along with her beloved grandchildren, Erik, Adalie and Emily Williams, who were the lights of her life. They brought her immeasurable joy and laughter, and she adored every moment spent with them. Dee's love for her Wiener dog, Arlo, was a reflection of her nurturing spirit, further adding to the warmth she brought to those around her. She was also survived by a sister Michelle Jackson of Florida and many close friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Linda Jackson.

Dee found great strength and solace in her faith, as a proud member of God's House of Piketon, which shaped her values and spirit of giving. Her passion for travel, especially to the beach, served as a testament to her love for life and exploration.

As we celebrate the beautiful life of Dee Jackson, we invite friends and family to gather in her honor. Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2026, 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Services will take place immediately following at 6:00 PM, all at FC Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street, Portsmouth, OH.
