Bringing Bitcoin to Life | Anypay

We love freedom. We are so obsessed with it that all we think about every day, is how we can be more free and help bring our friends and loved ones along with us. Steven and Derrick were years from meeting each other when they first heard about bitcoin, but each other them was totally enraptured by the concept. Peer to peer electronic cash. This was freedom.

For years they independently helped people use bitcoin. Set up merchants to accept it. Installing wallets and tipping cab drivers, hair stylists, whoever would take it. When they finally met, it was kismet. They were destined to join forces and create the company that would bring crypto into real life.

They started with a simple app. It only did Dash. It worked. They convinced some merchants in their small New England town to try it, and before long, there was a real economy developing. Their yoga instructor would take the Dash she received as payment and spend it at the restaurant across the street from her studio. The restaurant owner would take the Dash and buy a hair cut from the local salon, and so on.

Before long they expanded to other continents, supporting 160 different fiat currencies and 8 different languages. But they always stayed true to the vision: crypto in real life. This was a point of sale app designed for retail, and there was no fiat involved. Ever. The merchants get the coins directly from the customers. More coins were added to the platform, and before long they had a tool that real businesses were installing and using. Not just friends, but people far away who also shared the vision of crypto in real life.
