Allied health professionals are clinical healthcare professions distinct from medicine, dentistry, and nursing such as Dietitians, Optometrists, and Speech Pathologists. The delivery of healthcare depends on an expanded group of trained professionals. According to the government industry classifications, healthcare generally consists of hospital activities, medical and dental practice activities, and other human health activities.
