For our March 1 event I will be playing cello, mapped to the 7 chakras.
Sound & Chakra Map
These notes and locations are drawn from common sound-healing and music traditions.
Where sound is actually felt can vary greatly from person to person.
I present these sounds with their associated chakras for entertainment purposes, you are invited to notice your own experience regarding where you feel sound vibrations in your body, as this can vary between individuals.
🌱 Root Chakra (Muladhara)
Location: Base of spine, pelvic floor, legs, feet
Typical cello range: C2 – G2
Lowest open C string and low resonant tones
Often described as grounding, stabilizing, and anchoring.
🌊 Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)
Location: Lower abdomen, hips, below the navel
Typical cello range: D2 – A2
Warm, fluid tones slightly above the lowest register
Often associated with flow, sensation, and movement.
🔥 Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)
Location: Upper abdomen, stomach area
Typical cello range: B2 – E3
Clear mid-low register tones
Often linked with energy, activation, and inner strength.
💚 Heart Chakra (Anahata)
Location: Center of the chest, sternum
Typical cello range: F3 – C4
Middle register, singing quality of the cello
Often associated with openness, connection, and resonance.
💬 Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)
Location: Throat, neck, jaw
Typical cello range: D4 – G4
Upper register with vocal-like clarity
Often linked with expression and voice.
👁 Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)
Location: Center of forehead, between the eyebrows
Typical cello range: A4 – D5
High harmonics, lighter bow pressure, airy tones
Often associated with imagery, focus, and inner awareness.

Location: Top of the head
Typical cello range: E5 and above
Very high notes, harmonics, or barely-touched tones
