A tinnitus spike is not always an increase in volume. It can involve changes in pitch, tone, or sound quality, or a period when tinnitus feels more intrusive or distressing, even if the sound itself has not changed.
Spikes can last minutes, hours, or longer, and while they’re tough, they don’t mean you’ve lost progress. They’re a normal part of habituation.
