26 Years. 🤍

Today, Friday March 13, 2026 marks 26 years of me being in the field of sonography, and honestly… in my wildest dreams I could have never imagined that my life would look the way it does today.

Over the years I’ve taken risks.
I’ve been told no more times than I can count — but “no” was never an answer I was willing to accept.

I’ve lost friends along the way, and I’ll be the first to admit… I’m probably the poster child for not following the chain of command. But the truth is, that’s exactly why I had to do things my way.

Not just for my own mental health… but so I could truly advocate for the families I’ve had the honor of serving for the past 26 years.

Every single day I show up with purpose.
And I will continue to show up and show out for every family that chooses to have me be part of their journey.

To everyone who has trusted me —
everyone who has allowed me to put a probe somewhere on their body over the last 26 years 😅 — thank you.

Healthcare worker PSA… specifically from a sonographer 👩‍⚕️🩺

Always. Carry. Extra. Scrubs. In. Your. Car.

Today I had the pleasure of scanning the sweetest 89-year-old woman who was having urinary incontinence. She had a diaper on, so I thought we were in the clear. Everything was going smoothly… until it wasn’t.

She wasn’t as mobile as I would’ve liked, so I sat next to her on the bed and leaned over to capture her left kidney. And that’s when it happened…

I felt it.

Warmth. On my right butt cheek.

In that exact moment I knew two things:
1️⃣ She couldn’t hold her bladder
2️⃣ That diaper was definitely not on correctly

Did I panic? No.
Did I scream internally? Also yes. 😅

I stayed calm, cleaned her up, finished the exam, and sent her on her way. Meanwhile I’m standing there thinking… welp… these scrub pants are done for the day.

Luckily, my favorite CT tech Nicole came to the rescue with an extra pair of scrub pants (true healthcare MVP status).

So this is your reminder: keep an extra pair of scrubs in your car. Not for fashion… for survival.
