Step 3 of the placenta encapsulation process is dehydration

The prepared placenta is dried to remove all moisture so it can be safely ground into powder later.

Here’s what typically happens in that step:
• After steaming (in a Traditional Chinese Medicine method) the placenta is thinly sliced.
• The slices are laid out on dehydrator trays
• They are dehydrated at a low, controlled temperature (commonly around 160°F )
• The placenta remains in the dehydrator for many hours (often 18-24+) until the pieces are completely dry and brittle.
• Proper dehydration is crucial to inhibit bacterial growth, extend shelf life, and ensure the placenta can be finely ground in the next step.

Once fully dehydrated, the process moves on to grinding and encapsulation.

Dehydration is the most time consuming process in the encapsulation process.
