The first four months of the year have brought tremendous momentum to Mid-Hudson Works, and I’m grateful to share just how much our community has helped make this possible.

We have received generous support from Central Hudson, Ulster Savings, Dyson Foundation, Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley, Walmart, and several private donors and foundations. Their investment strengthens our mission and expands opportunities for the individuals we serve. It has also allowed us to make necessary facility improvements that strengthen our training infrastructure and capabilities.

This season has also welcomed several new business partners whose work has directly grown staff capacity and created meaningful workforce development opportunities. SKWOL, Sophie Lou Jacobsen, and Loopy Mango have each brought a wealth of new projects, helping us build pathways for emerging talent and expanding our role in the co-packing industry. These partnerships are creating new jobs, new skills, and new possibilities for our participants.

Thank you for being part of a community that believes in people, purpose, and the power of meaningful work. The Hudson Valley is truly a great place to live, work, and support through our mission’s work.

Teamwork truly does make the dream work — and today, Mid‑Hudson Works is feeling especially grateful.

We’d like to give a huge shout‑out to two wonderful volunteers, Gwen and Eddie from the Poughkeepsie Elks Lodge 275 Veterans Committee, who spent their Monday with us - lending their time, energy, and heart

We are so happy for Ryan Law for making his dream a reality with Freedom Fighters Pretzels. Watching someone turn passion into purpose is always inspiring — and Ryan’s story is exactly that.

Great story. Great person. Great product. Great cause.
This journey has all the components of success and was created for all the right reasons.

Ryan, we’re cheering you on and hope to see you at the workshop soon. The Hudson Valley is lucky to have makers like you who lead with heart and mission.

It looks like a bag of pretzels, but the story behind it involves a gr***de attack, a lifetime of service and more.

💙 Big news for Mid‑Hudson Works! 💙 Our partnership with North River Roasters and Road Recovery has been featured in the March 2026 issue of Food & Beverage Magazine.

This spotlight means a great deal to us. Road Recovery’s mission—supporting New York State youth facing mental health challenges, justice involvement, poverty, and other adversities through mentoring, creative arts, and recording programs—aligns powerfully with our own commitment to meaningful employment and community impact. Seeing this collaboration recognized on a national stage underscores what’s possible when nonprofits come together with shared purpose.
We’re thrilled to see this partnership gaining widespread attention and are grateful to everyone who helps make this work possible.

Deep gratitude to Ulster Savings Foundation for standing with us.

Today, Mid Hudson Works is honored to receive a $5,000 community grant that will directly strengthen our workforce development programs. This support helps us expand capacity for our staff, our program participants, and the local businesses that partner with us to provide hands‑on training opportunities.

Moments like this remind us how essential local champions are in the nonprofit world. Community impact doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens when mission‑driven organizations, businesses, and neighbors invest in one another’s success.

Ulster Savings Bank has consistently shown up for the Hudson Valley, and their continued partnership helps ensure that people facing barriers to employment have access to meaningful, skill‑building work.

We are deeply appreciative of this support and of every community partner who believes in the power of opportunity, dignity, and local collaboration.

Thank you, Ulster Savings Bank, for helping us make a difference where it matters most.

Celebrating another milestone at Mid Hudson Works — made possible by our community.

We are thrilled to share that we’ve reached an important step in our facility improvements: the installation of a new 200‑amp electrical panel, marking the beginning of Phase 1 of our kitchen expansion project. This upgrade is essential to increasing our co‑packing capabilities, which will allow us to serve more mission‑aligned businesses and expand training and employment opportunities for the participants who rely on us.

This progress is possible thanks to the generosity of Central Hudson and a local private foundation whose name will remain private but whose impact is deeply felt. Their support strengthens our ability to grow sustainably, build capacity, and create more pathways to meaningful work for individuals facing barriers to employment.

Local and community‑based supporters play a vital role in the nonprofit ecosystem. When organizations invest in their neighbors, the entire region benefits — and today’s milestone is a powerful example of that.

We are sincerely grateful to both partners for believing in our mission and standing with us as we continue to serve the Hudson Valley community.
