Winter has a way of inviting us inward — to slow down, to quiet the noise, to tend to what feels essential.
Some dear clients I see monthly in their home always take time to create a small altar for the session. Soft light. A few meaningful objects. Even a large lava rock placed beneath the table for extra grounding. It’s a simple, intentional space — not always about religion or belief, though for some it is — but always about care. About presence. About marking a moment as something worth honoring.
In the darker, quieter months, creating a space like this can feel especially supportive. A place to rest, reflect, breathe, or simply be still. An altar doesn’t have to mean anything spiritual unless you want it to. It can be a candle glowing against the gray, a stone from the earth, a shell, a photo, something from nature — small reminders of steadiness and warmth.
Have you ever created a quiet, intentional space for yourself during winter?
What helps you feel grounded or held in this season?
