Pain at the base of your big toe after sports or activity could be turf toe.
Turf toe is a sprain of the joint at the base of the big toe, often caused by the toe bending too far upward. It can lead to pain, swelling, stiffness, and discomfort when walking or running.
If big toe pain is not improving, it may be time for an evaluation.
What is turf toe? This is an athletic injury to the ligaments at the base of the big toe. If you play sports on turf and have a sore toe, call Dr. Alvin Cowans.
