Powhatan Physical Therapy is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient orthopedic team. We are a locally owned private practice that has served the Powhatan community for over 25 years. Our clinic emphasizes patient-centered care, functional outcomes, and a supportive team environment.

This position is ideal for a PTA who enjoys working closely with patients, values hands-on treatment, and thrives in a collaborative outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

Implement treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist
Provide therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, manual therapy, and functional training
Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising PT
Educate patients on home exercise programs and recovery expectations
Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure excellent patient care
Qualifications

Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Virginia
Graduate of an accredited PTA program
Outpatient orthopedic experience preferred but not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team

For 25 years, we’ve had the privilege of caring for our neighbors, helping our community heal, move, and live better. Thank you to our incredible patients, families, and staff who have trusted us and supported us through every chapter.

We are so grateful for this community and excited for many more years ahead.

For 25 years, Powhatan Physical Therapy has been proud to serve the people who make our community strong: leaders, students, business owners, educators, veterans, homemakers, elders, families, and everyone in between.

We’ve watched kids grow into athletes, helped neighbors get back to work, supported recovery after surgery, and celebrated countless wins, both big and small.

❄️ WINTER WEATHER UPDATE ❄️

For the safety of our patients and staff, Powhatan Physical Therapy will be CLOSED on Monday, 1/26 due to winter weather conditions.

✅ We plan to offer additional hours next week (weather permitting) to help everyone get rescheduled as quickly as possible.

Like the rest of the East Coast, we’re monitoring the weather and road conditions in Powhatan and surrounding areas. We may adjust clinic hours due to inclement weather, and if closures occur, we may add additional clinic hours to help with rescheduling.
