Sure… it works.

But that was never its primary purpose. Not even close.

Pain is the reason many people walk into a chiropractic office.

But pain relief is not the full potential of what we do.

Because pain isn’t just a mechanical error in the body.

Pain is a protective signal generated by the nervous system, shaped by context, past experience, perceived threat, and the brain’s prediction of danger.

Which means the real work isn’t just “removing pain.”

It’s helping the nervous system regulate, adapt, and feel safe enough that it no longer needs to produce pain as protection.

When you stop chasing symptoms and start understanding the system underneath them, something interesting happens:
The body stops needing to shout.

This is where chiropractic gets far more powerful than pain relief alone.

On this day in 1845, Daniel David (D.D.) Palmer was born. D.D., also known as The Discoverer of Chiropractic and The Founder of the Chiropractic profession, performed the first chiropractic adjustment in 1895 in Davenport, Iowa. He founded Palmer School and Cure (now Palmer College of Chiropractic) in Davenport in 1897 and died in 1913.
