ATTENTION ALL VILLAGE PEDS FAMILIES:

As many of you may have heard, there was a recent recall on certain types of Similac, Alimentum and ElaCare powdered infant formulas. If your child is currently consuming any of these powdered formula varieties, we urge you to visit the FDA.GOV link below.

On this site, you will be given important information regarding which specific lot numbers are being recalled. If the formula you are using matches ALL THREE of the recall criteria, it is important that you immediately stop feeding it to your child, discard the formula and monitor your child for diarrhea, poor feeding and fever. If your child consumed any of these recalled products and develops these signs and symptoms, it is very important to have them seen by one of our providers.

It is also important to begin checking lot numbers when purchasing Similac, Alimentum and ElaCare powdered formulas. You should do this until further notice from the FDA. If you notice a store is selling the recalled varieties, do not purchase it and bring it to a store manager’s attention.
