Resident Feature: Glenda Sue Mack
Glenda Sue Mack was born on March 17, 1945, and her maiden name is Collins. Her morning routine varies from day to day, but she enjoys starting her morning by relaxing in bed while watching TV, sipping coffee, and spending time in prayer.
Some of Glenda’s favorite foods and drinks include pizza and tea. For comfort, she loves popcorn and chocolate. She has several family members who live nearby, including a brother, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Glenda is most proud of her two children, Suzanne and David. She is also blessed with two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Glenda spent most of her life in western Kansas, where her primary occupation was cooking for restaurants and schools. As the main meal prepper, she played an important role in making sure others were well fed and cared for. She was also active in her community and attended a Methodist church. Glenda graduated high school, earned her diploma, and even took some evening college courses.
When the weather is just right, Glenda enjoys spending time outdoors. Her hobbies include reading, working on word searches, and watching sports—especially Kansas City Chiefs football, Boston Celtics basketball, and KU basketball. Her favorite TV show is NCIS, and her favorite travel destination is Colorado.
Glenda asks that those who care for her remember one thing that matters to her: please be patient. She loves keeping busy with reading, word searches, walking, watching TV, and talking with her kids. Her favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, a time that holds special memories of gathering with family. One of her fondest holiday stories is when her children believed they had seen Santa Claus—when really, it was Glenda placing presents under the tree. The memory still brings a smile to her face.
Thank you, Glenda, for sharing your story and your life with us. We are so happy you are a part of our community.
