What is a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM)? 💙✨

Most people hear “midwife” and think pregnancy only — but CNMs are trained, licensed advanced practice clinicians who provide a full spectrum of healthcare across the lifespan.

Here’s what CNM care actually includes:

🌿 Obstetric Care
Pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and comprehensive support for growing families.

🌸 Gynecologic Care
Annual exams, contraception, fertility care, menstrual concerns, perimenopause/menopause, and sexual/reproductive health for all stages of life.

🩺 Primary Care
Yes — CNMs provide primary care too. That means wellness visits, screenings, prevention, and management of common health conditions.

👶 Newborn Care
Assessment and care for newborns in the first weeks of life, supporting the transition from birth into early infancy.

CNMs are trained to combine clinical excellence with evidence-based, whole-person care.

Honoring the tiniest lives that left the biggest imprints on our hearts 💔🖤

October is painted in pink and blue.
But behind the ribbons are the stories no one talks about.

The positive tests that never made it to an ultrasound.
The heartbeats that stopped too soon.
The nurseries that were never filled.
The mothers who carry invisible scars.
The fathers who grieve in silence.

Pregnancy loss doesn’t end when the due date passes.
It doesn’t end when the world forgets.
It lingers, in anniversaries, in “should-have-beens,” in the quiet ache that never fully leaves.

This month isn’t about awareness alone.
It’s about breaking the silence.
It’s about saying their names.
It’s about honoring every baby gone too soon, and every parent forever changed.

Because their stories matter.
Because their lives mattered, no matter how brief.

What an incredible journey these past two years have been. Baby Space Ultrasound started as just an idea, a dream in my heart and it has grown into something I am so deeply passionate about!

Every day, I get to do what I love most, connecting with growing families, sharing in your joy, and witnessing some of life’s most unforgettable moments. It feels more like a hobby I’m blessed to call my career! The best part has been chatting, catching up, and laughing with so many wonderful families - each story, each heartbeat, and each smile has brought endless happiness to us, Baby Space Ultrasound. ✨

We're taking July 2026 to recharge! If you're hoping to use our homebirth services, let's plan ahead.

📆Keep in mind:

Cycles starting September 14, 2025 - November 7, 2025, won't have homebirth availability.

💗But, you can choose midwifery care for a planned birth with Midwife Kim at Jackson Hospital.

If you need some condoms for those months, stop by the clinic 😉

Breastfeeding support group upcoming dates!!!

Summer is in full swing, but we will continue to have support groups offered every 1st and 3rd Friday (with the exception of July 4th - moved to Thursday, July 3rd) for postpartum/breastfeeding moms!

We offer weighed feedings, latch checks, and, of course, lots of love and support during this important time. Feel free to bring older siblings if needed.

Drop in anytime between 10 a.m. - 12 noon at 210 Medical Center Drive, Prattville AL!
