Central Arizona Fire and Medical

Central Arizona Fire and Medical Central Arizona Fire & Medical Authority (CAFMA) serves 369 sq. miles of Yavapai County, Arizona. Visit https://www.cazfire.gov for a complete history.

The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) formed as the first Fire Authority in the State of Arizona through an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Central Yavapai and Chino Valley Fire Districts. CAFMA's social media accounts will be used to provide relevant and timely updates for community members, including posts about fire safety, emergency incidents, news, events, job openings, and what it's like to work for CAFMA and serve our communities. We encourage questions, comments, and concerns, but please note that in order to manage staff resources, and your tax dollars, we do not monitor social media 24/7. We expect those interacting with our accounts to maintain a reasonable degree of civility. All posts and comments on CAFMA's social media pages are considered public records. BASIC INFO:
CAFMA consists of 10 full-time stations, a 40-hour engine that operates out of our Training Center (CARTA) and two reserve stations covering 369 square miles of Yavapai County. Engineer/Paramedic Harper recently visited Lake Valley Elementary, reading to students and sharing a few laughs. Moments like these help us connect with the next generation, long before they ever need us on an emergency call.

The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) has earned Accredited Agency status from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI). This five-year designation recognizes the agency meets the highest standards for planning, performance, and accountability.

A notable highlight of the accreditation process was CAFMA’s first-in-the-nation collaboration with Prescott Fire Department to jointly develop Shared Standards of Cover and a Community Risk Assessment, demonstrating regional cooperation and innovation in public safety.

We thank our dedicated CAFMA staff for their hard work and professionalism, as well as the Prescott Fire Department and our community partners, whose collaboration helped make this accreditation possible.
