We are, in essence, a point of awareness fixed at a certain position. Our enemy and at the same time our friend is our internal dialogue; our inventory. Shut off your internal dialogue. Make your inventory and then throw it away. Without the inventory the point of awareness becomes free. Here, in brief posts, the focus is on the spirit of mindfulness, learning in regards to the mastery of awareness, both in our formal attempts at practice and in our efforts to bring it into all aspects of our daily lives. Each post is a glimpse through one face of the multifaceted diamond of mindfulness and awareness. The posts are related to each other by tiny rotations of the crystal. Some may sound similar to others, but each facet is also different, unique. There are two emotions that inform and animate the human animal; fear, and a gratitude-love-awe mix that might best be called agape. As fear goes out, agape comes in. As we work with the mastery of awareness, everything becomes clear and obvious. More accurately, a pure white light of awareness hits the prism of self and splits outward to become the universe as we experience it. If the prism of self is gray and murky with ignorance, choked with fear, contaminated with ego, then so becomes the universe that radiates out from it. It’s that simple. As the prism becomes free of such flaws, then the whole universe changes with it. It resolves into clarity, becomes brighter, more playful and magical. Because we are the lens through which it is projected, we are participants in its shape and motion; co-creators of our own universe.
