Juniper Funmaker, Diné/ Ho-Chunk artist. Juniper is an emerging Indigenous artist of Diné and Ho-Chunk heritage. Raised in a family deeply grounded in ceremony, cultural teachings, and spiritual tradition, she draws creative energy from the stories and values shared by her parents and extended relatives. For her, art is both reflective and reconnection, a way to explore identity while honoring ancestral roots. Juniper describes her work as “inscrutable,” a personal space where imagination and meaning intertwine.
Today, we’re honored to showcase Junipers powerful art piece, “Thunder Spirit” as part of our healing journey at Thundermaker Wellness Center.
Her work-and that of other Indigenous artists-reflects deep recovery, ceremony, and connection to land and identity. Every design is a story. Every brushstroke is resilience.
Artwork like Juniper’s is now featured on shirts through our website: thundermakerwellness.com/shop
Each purchase directly fuels our evolving recovery programs rooted in Indigenous culture, language, and ceremony.
