Great seeing the new owner of CAPS Christie Wolf-Rogers PMHNP in the The Star-Herald and The Bangor Daily News this week! Wolf-Rogers is one of the most sought after providers in Northern Maine. She specializes in working with Children.

-Rogers and her husband Jason Rogers purchased ( ) from Dr. Mari Cochran on February 29th and began running it the 1st of March with provider being the anchor and holding the fort down until Christie was able to join her full time in June 2020. Due to corona virus CAPS was unable to have a proper grand opening until recent. When Christie's husband, a former country singer, and 2 time Grammy Award Nominee Jason Rogers heard that CAPS at 521 Main Street in Presque Isle, Maine was shutting down and its employees were going home to not return, it bothered him. He thought about it a few days and made a decision. We are keeping the lights on Main Street in on.

Not only would Christie and Jason purchase the business and keep its employees, now they are growing it.

"I knew my wife was the best of the best in her field and I wanted her to work close to home and have the ability to help people the way she saw fit without the oversight, micromanagement, and multitude of policies, emails, and meetings that larger corporate hospitals have. It is hard to carve a way out for yourself to help people in your own way when you are burdened down with so many extra things that don't really pertain to your job. Point is, it takes away from your time that you could be using helping people." ~ Jason Rogers

Christie's husband was born at Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital as was his sister Beth. At the time his father Lawrence Rogers was the Vice President of Finance for McCain Foods in the USA. If you would have told Jason and Christie five years ago that they would be leaving their little brick ranch in to move to the most northern large city in Maine they would have not imagined it. From warm springs and summers in to multiple feet of snow in it was a journey that was exciting and taken in the height of winter January 2018. Their daughters Isabella and Olivia are enjoying the snow and have made many new friends at school. Now the Rogers are not only here but they have bought a business on Main Street and they are here to stay.

The newest addition to the CAPS team is Nicole Long PMHNP and she is currently taking on new patients of all ages. Call and book an appointment with today!

PMHNP is a provider that is working on finishing up her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Harvard University. She is well liked by those already seeing her and she is a burst of energy that is new to and new to the area. Nicole is seeing all age ranges from Children to Seniors and enjoys working with everyone she has met so far. Her husband and her are currently looking at homes in Aroostook county and also intend on making Presque Isle their home. They both love it here and boast of how kind, wonderful, and nice the people are here.

We have other providers (PMHNP's and MD's) ask if they can come work for CAPS and we intend on adding a 4th and maybe even 5th provider in the upcoming year.

CAPS has aspirations to eventually become the biggest source for mental health needs in Northern Maine. We at CAPS like to set our goals high as we want to help as many people as we can.

Local service providers still see clients who struggle to access specialty services and overcome the social stigma often associated with seeking help.
