Active Re-Entry is hosting a FREE Wheelchair Wash! This is open to anyone in the community that needs to have their mobility devices cleaned, sanitized, and inspected for safe use. Registration is encouraged by calling Active Re-Entry 435-637-4950.

Flat Stanley spent the day with the staff at Active Re-Entry Independent Living Center to learn about all of the programs and services they provide to people with disabilities. Stanley’s first job was to go for a ride on the PERKIE Travels van with individuals getting radiation treatments in Utah County. He wanted to drive, but he couldn’t reach the steering wheel. Stanley then learned about assistive technology and how the different devices help people with disabilities do daily tasks and live independently. He really enjoyed riding up and down the hallway in the wheelchair. After lunch Stanley participated in a Ball Drumming class that helps reduce stress, a good seated exercise and a whole lot of fun. Stanley learned that people with disabilities have access to some really great resources and programs in the community, and the impact that those services make in people’s lives.
Active Re-Entry is also a proud supporter of our Helper Library and the Flat Stanley project, helping bring awareness to community programs and encouraging learning through fun experiences like Stanley’s adventures.

Gratitude was the theme of the day as the Carbon County Commission convened on Wednesday, March 18. The agenda included several items celebrating members of the community, as well as the approval of the 2026 rural county grant.

Active Re-Entry held or first annual Community Advocate Awards on March 12, 2026. These awards are to recognize individuals and organizations in our seven county service area that are doing great things for the community. This years recipients Louie Santillanes, Harim Driggs, Marsha Ellington, Anna Callaham, and Than Woodward. These individuals have and continue to advocate for all people in our community, provide education and critical resources. We thank all of them for their hard work and continued dedication to make our community a great place to live.

We also would like to thank all of our consumers and community partners that attended the event and make this a special event for the recipients.
