CalvertHealth

CalvertHealth In the heart of Calvert County, CalvertHealth has been taking care of Southern Maryland families for more than a century.

In everything we do, our goal is to be the trusted healthcare leader, delivering a lifetime of exceptional care. CalvertHealth Medical Center (CHMC) is a private, not-for-profit, community-owned hospital. Founded in 1919, CHMC has been taking care of Southern Maryland families for more than 100 years. Our hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission, licensed by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and certified for Medicare and Medicaid. You can feel confident that you will receive only the highest quality care at CHMC. CHMC is governed by a community board of directors who volunteer their service to the health system. They represent our community and take an active role in the operation of our facility. You can find out more about our board members at http://www.calverthealthmedicine.org/. In addition to our main hospital campus, medical office buildings located in Dunkirk, Solomons, Twin Beaches and Prince Frederick ensure that quality care is no more than 15 minutes from anywhere in Calvert County. We are dedicated to the seamless delivery of high quality medical services for each of our patients. This means supplying everything you may need, from acute, critical care to rehabilitation and home health services, all in the same continuum. It also means providing community health education, wellness programs and reaching out to our neighbors through community partnerships.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his commitment to service, community and hope.

In recognition of MLK Day, the CalvertHealth REACH Committee was proud to host a table in the Medical Center's lobby, offering opportunities for staff and visitors to engage in meaningful ways. From wearing blue and green, to writing get-well cards for patients, learning about volunteer opportunities, accessing voter registration information, and more—each small action reflected Dr. King’s enduring call to engage with your community.

Together, we continue working toward a healthier community for all.

The holidays are known for spreading joy all around.

Unfortunately, they are also known for spreading GERMS all around.

So it’s no surprise that healthcare providers throughout the region are seeing an expected uptick in patients experiencing colds, the flu, and other illnesses.

If you are experiencing a health emergency, head to the emergency department. Otherwise, your first call should be to CalvertHealth Primary Care or our partners at Patriot Urgent Care.

Each has locations throughout the region. Find the closest one to you today.

Sage Hutton, a sophomore at Calvert High School, turned her passion into purpose by hosting a fundraising campaign in October to support the Sheldon E. Goldberg Center for Breast Care. Alongside her mom, Sage created special pink-themed menu items on her family’s food truck, Heidi’s Eats and Sage’s Treats, donating a portion of each sale to the cause.

Thanks to her creativity and dedication, Sage raised $1,075, which was proudly presented to the Breast Center on Monday, January 5.

Sage will be honored as a North Star in the CalvertHealth Foundation’s Rising Star Program, recognizing young philanthropists who are making a meaningful difference in our community.

Way to go, Sage!
