Cheryl has been a tremendous asset to CalvertHealth for over 18 years. She embraced a major transition from 15 years as a Labor & Delivery nurse to serving as a full-time nurse navigator for obstetrical patients. In this role, she plays a key part in advancing our goal of delivering exceptional women’s care.

Cheryl supports patients throughout their pregnancy journey—providing education, coordinating care, facilitating referrals for high-risk patients, scheduling testing and organizing inductions and C-sections. She works independently as a vital liaison between the outpatient office and Labor & Delivery, ensuring seamless care.

Her support extends well beyond clinical coordination. Cheryl meets with patients individually, typically each trimester or more often as needed, offering guidance and reassurance every step of the way. With a dedicated OB phone line, she remains easily accessible to both patients and staff. She also regularly offers birthing classes and has built strong relationships with regional partners, including MedStar, University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins, and Luminis Health, to ensure access to specialized care when needed.

Cheryl’s compassion is evident in every interaction. She provides personalized, one-on-one support, addressing questions, concerns, and barriers—whether language, cultural, or social—with empathy and determination. Even after delivery, she often visits patients in Labor & Delivery, continuing the relationships she has built with families.

She is also a strong advocate for her team, mentoring medical assistants and sharing her deep knowledge of obstetrical care to enhance patient support across the practice.

Cheryl truly embodies the values of CalvertHealth, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her on our team.

Thank you for your service to CalvertHealth, Cheryl! We appreciate you!

Please help us congratulate Cheryl for winning the March Excellence in Action Award!

The best way to fight cancer is to stay one step ahead of it.

Cancer Control Month is a time to focus on what we can control. That means regular screenings, healthy habits and knowing when to act.

CalvertHealth, in collaboration with Duke Health, offers comprehensive cancer services designed to catch concerns early and treat them with precision and compassion.
