Calvert County Career EMS has launched a Low-Titer Type O Positive Whole Blood Field Transfusion Program, allowing specially trained EMS clinicians to administer whole blood to critically injured patients before they reach the hospital.

This lifesaving capability:
✔️ Brings hospital-level trauma care directly to patients
✔️ Improves survival for severe injuries and severe blood loss
✔️ Makes Calvert County one of only a few EMS agencies in Maryland authorized to carry and administer whole blood in the field
