Clear air, clear space, safer sleep.

Soft items like blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, and even adult beds can block a baby’s airway and increase the risk of suffocation. That’s why safe sleep matters so much.

The safest place for a baby to sleep is alone, on their back, in a crib, bassinet, or play yard with a firm mattress and nothing else inside. Clear space helps keep airways open and breathing unobstructed.

Safe sleep isn’t about perfection; it’s about protecting something precious. Learn more at the Safe Sleep Academy. https://safesleepacademy.org/

**Check in if:** Your baby shows no recognition of caregivers

---

🧸 **Around 18 Months**
**What’s happening:** Toddlers start copying daily routines and family roles.
**Try this:**
β€’ Encourage pretend play
β€’ Use dolls, toy kitchens, or cleaning toys

**Typical:** Pretending to cook, clean, or care for a doll
**Check in if:** Your child does not imitate familiar routines

---

πŸš“ **Around 2 Years**
**What’s happening:** Children begin noticing community helpers and family traditions.
**Try this:**
β€’ Read books about helpers
β€’ Talk about daily routines and community roles

**Typical:** Pointing out helpers like police officers or doctors
**Check in if:** Your child shows little awareness of people outside the home

---

🎭 **Around 3 Years**
**What’s happening:** Preschoolers enjoy role-playing and start understanding simple rules.
**Try this:**
β€’ Dress up as community helpers
β€’ Visit local places like the library or fire station
