One of the most common questions we get is how we keep a close eye on you and baby while you’re tucked away in the birth pool. The good news is that we can provide all the safety and monitoring of a typical birth without ever needing you to leave your happy place!

We use a special waterproof Doppler to listen to baby’s heart rate right under the water. It’s simple, non-invasive, and lets us hear that beautiful rhythm while you stay relaxed. Along with checking on baby, we stay right by your side to monitor your vitals, like your pulse and blood pressure, using our standard equipment.

The warm water is incredible for offering natural pain relief, but our priority is always a safe delivery. We monitor both of you very closely throughout the process. If we ever feel we need more frequent monitoring or if things get a bit more complex, we might ask you to step out of the pool for a little while.

We’re here to protect the peace of your birth space while ensuring you and your baby are safe and sound every step of the way. 🤍

You trusted your body when it grew a whole human.
You trusted it through nausea that didn’t quit.
Through heartburn that burned.
Through hips that ached and nights that never ended.

You trusted your body when it expanded, shifted, adapted, and carried life.

But somehow, the moment labor begins, we allow doubt to set in.

Labor is not where trust should disappear.
It’s where trust matters most.
Here’s the truth no one says clearly enough:
The body that carried your baby is the same body that knows how to birth them.

Save this.
Share it with the woman who needs the reminder before she gives birth.

How can you practice right now? By using your body differently during pregnancy.

That can look like:

Swaying your hips while you cook or brush your teeth.
Leaning into your partner and letting your weight be held.
Practicing slow, low breaths during moments of stress.
Softening your jaw when you notice tension.
Letting your body move instead of staying still.

These don’t need to be formal or scheduled.
They’re small, repeatable moments that teach your body how to release instead of brace.

When labor begins, your body won’t need instructions.
It will recognize what to do.

Practice doesn’t make labor perfect, but it makes it familiar.

Tell me: What can you do today to practice for labor?

When the real thing begins, you won’t be in your head anymore.
Your body takes the lead.
Your instincts kick in.
You move, breathe, sway, groan, rest, and rise in ways you could never plan for.

And yes, there may be moments when you need a pep talk. A reminder to breathe. Someone to steady the room when things feel big. That doesn’t mean you’re lost. It means you’re human. It means you’re doing the work.

You don’t need to have every answer ahead of time.
You just need support that keeps you centered when your mind starts to drift into fear. That’s what good midwifery care does. It doesn’t take over your birth. It helps you stay connected to yourself so you can do what only you can do.

Your birth is NOT a transaction, but a relationship.
That’s the fundamental difference with midwifery care.

Our model isn’t about fitting you into a 15-minute slot, but a deep, committed partnership formed over nine months.
• We listen the first time.
• We learn your fears and your goals.
• We build a foundation of trust and understanding.
By the time you’re in labor, we don’t need a reminder, because we know exactly what you want and, more importantly, what you absolutely don’t want.

Ready to ditch the broken-record feeling and finally feel seen, heard, and prioritized?

Have you ever really stopped to think about how wild the placenta really is?

It pulls in oxygen, nutrients, antibodies, and sends out what your baby doesn’t need. Two totally separate blood supplies, working in sync, without ever mixing, sort of like a revolving door.

No organ in your body multitasks like this one.

It starts as a handful of microscopic cells and ends up weighing about a sixth of your baby’s weight. It rewires your spiral arteries so the blood flow can keep up. And by the time your baby is born, about 30 percent of her total blood volume is still circulating in that cord.

So yes, waiting for that cord to finish pulsing matters. A lot. You wouldn’t want to walk away without a third of your blood, and neither should your baby.

Pretty incredible for an organ you grow from scratch.
