Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Operating Room & Perioperative Duties
* Perform circulating RN duties during surgical procedures
* Fill in as scrub nurse and assist with SPD (Sterile Processing Department) functions when needed
* Provide PACU care, including pre-operative and post-operative patient monitoring
* Maintain and complete all required regulatory and compliance logs (OR, sterilization, temperature, crash cart, etc.)
* Coordinate with the OR cleaning company to ensure proper room turnover and compliance
Pre-Operative & Clinical Support
* Conduct pre-operative appointments with surgical patients
* Prepare and assemble complete surgery charts, ensuring all required documentation is present, including: EKGs, Medical clearances, History & physicals, Consents and lab results
* Perform chart reviews to ensure accuracy and readiness prior to and after surgery
* Suture removals in office
* Assist physicians with office procedures
Quality Improvement & Administrative Support
* Gather and organize data for quarterly Quality Improvement (QI) studies
* Perform other duties as assigned to support the surgical team and practice operations
Qualifications
* Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of NJ
* Ambulatory surgery and/or plastic surgery experience strongly preferred
* Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
* Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards, infection control, and regulatory requirements
* Ability to multitask, work independently, and adapt to changing daily needs
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Comfortable working in a small-team, collaborative environment
