I'm seeing the long-term effects of moms and dads whose hurt spilled into their parenting more and more in my personal relationships and therapeutic interactions. Momma and Poppa, we owe it to our children to mend (heal) our own wounds. We have to do our best to minimize the likelihood of our traumas and brokenness negatively tainting the relationships with our babies. Momma: you are so significant to your baby in ways its hard to describe. You are as close to the Divine this side of creation for your children. Let's not allow our hurt to tear them down, as we raise them, TO BREAK THEM, before they're even grown. Poppa: your absence is crushing. Your children never stop feeling the effects of your absence, no matter how old they get. They need you to be present- physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually. Poppa...your sons, your daughters-THEY NEED YOU.
