Helping Kids Manage Aggressive Behavior

Young children may hit, bite, or lash out when they lack the words to express big feelings. Parents can guide them with simple strategies:

✨ Set clear rules and expectations
✨ Praise positive behavior
✨ Model calm responses
✨ Redirect with healthy distractions
✨ Use time-outs only when needed

If aggression lasts for weeks or puts others at risk, reach out to your pediatrician for support.

Body Odor and Puberty: What Parents Should Know

One of the first signs of puberty is often body odor, which can start as early as age 8 or 9. As kids grow, new sweat glands become active and natural bacteria on the skin create stronger smells. This is a normal part of development and a good chance to teach healthy habits.

Regular showers, clean clothing, and using deodorant can make a big difference. If odor or sweating seems excessive, a pediatrician can help rule out other causes and offer guidance.

Harmful myths suggesting that vaccines cause autism sow fear and distrust in vaccines, ultimately jeopardizing the great progress we’ve made in preventing serious childhood diseases. For decades, scientists have studied the potential causes of autism, and have repeatedly found no credible link between childhood vaccines and autism. Any effort to misrepresent sound, strong science poses a threat to the health of children and does a disservice to our autistic community.

Families count on Princeton Nassau Pediatrics not only for medical care, but for peace of mind. Their feedback speaks to the heart of what we strive for:

“We admire the providers for being thorough, kind, and experienced. The nurses give great advice over the phone and guide us to visits when needed. Saturday appointments for sick children are such a relief, especially when little ones get sick on the weekend. The care is fast, the offices are clean, and the staff is always skilled and responsive. Thank you, PNP!”

Worried about your milk supply? Most mothers make enough, even when it doesn’t seem like it. 👶💧

It’s normal for your breasts to feel softer and for your baby to nurse for just a few minutes around 6 weeks to 2 months. This usually means your body and baby are finding their rhythm.

Babies often feed more during growth spurts around 2 to 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and 3 months. Let your baby guide you. Nursing more often helps increase your supply, and things usually balance out again soon.
