IN LOVING MEMORY

Ted Wayne Martin, 78, of Princeton, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026, at Rivers Bend Retirement Community in Kuttawa, Kentucky.

He was born in Princeton on October 3, 1947, to his late father, James L. Martin, and late mother, Elizabeth Manning. Ted was a devoted member of Christ Tabernacle and a man known for his service to both his church and community.

He was a lifelong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, serving as Scoutmaster and in other leadership positions. He was also honored with the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service. Ted especially enjoyed mentoring young men through their journey toward Eagle Scout, and he was thrilled when his own sons received that rank. He found great joy in the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and traveling throughout the West.

Ted also served as a magistrate for Caldwell County during the 1990s and truly enjoyed helping the members of his community. An entrepreneur who was skilled as an industrial and commercial general contractor, he began T.W.M. Enterprises in 1976 and later expanded his business by opening Masonry & Steel Supply in 1992.

Ted is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Jennie Kenady Martin; daughter, Sarah (Jordan) McClure of Princeton; sons, Brian (Ryan) Martin of Elkton, Adam (Nicole) Martin of Cadiz, Jonathan (Ellie) Martin of Murray; sister, Judy (John) Bardsley of South Carolina; brothers, James Martin of Princeton, Richard (Terry) Martin of Cerulean, Roger (Karen) Nelson, Isaac Rhine, Douglas (Melody) Rhine, Kelley Rhine, all of South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Braden Brokering, Laura Stephenson, Taylor Martin, Payton Tucker, Audrey McClure, Elizabeth McClure, Ian McClure; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. Martin and Joan Martin; his mother, Elizabeth Manning; and two sisters, Eva Ann Harper and Jean Morse.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Morgan's Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Jent officiating. Burial in White Sulphur Church Cemetery in Caldwell County will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Morgan's Funeral Home.

Dianna Sue Fambrough, passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 78 in Nashville, TN. She was born August 1, 1947 to the late Malcolm Faye and Mary Frances Hicks Buchanan in Union City, TN.

Her journey through life was marked by a devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ, her church, and her family.

Dianna shared 56 years of marriage with her husband, David Wayne Fambrough. Together, they built a life full of love and laughter, setting an example of true partnership for all who knew them. Dianna is survived by her daughter, Leslie Peek, and husband, Roger of Princeton, KY, and son, David Allen Fambrough and wife, Amanda of Clarksville, Tennessee. Dianna is also survived by her sisters, Debra Fulgham, and Dana Abercrombie of Kenton, Tennessee, her five grandchildren, Carlie Peek, Shea Fambrough, Tre Fambrough, Kailey Fambrough and David Tossi, five great-grandchildren, Endaya, Aaryiah, Chloe, Avery and Izarah, which brought great joy to life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Leah Fambrough, sister, Judy Williams, and brother, Michael Buchanan.

Dianna was a respected pastor's wife and an active member of the Eddy Creek Baptist Church. Her faith guided her through life's challenges and triumphs, and she drew strength from her unwavering belief. A true U.K. Basketball fan, Dianna enjoyed the thrills of the game, a passion she shared with her family and friends. Dianna enjoyed cooking, whether it was a family gathering or a church event, she lovingly prepared meals that brought people together and created warm memories that would last a lifetime. Her memory will be honored by all whose lives she touched, as they carry forward the love and values she cherished. Dianna Sue Fambrough's life story serves as a testament to a life well-lived. She was an inspiration and a courageous soul who made the world brighter.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Morgan's Funeral Home.

Bonnie Sue Nichols, 73, of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Mercy Health in Paducah.

She was born on February, 27, 1952, in Caldwell County, Kentucky, to her late parents, Urey "Pete" and Dimple Crowder Morse. She worked seventeen years at First Bank (now First Southern National Bank), beginning as a teller and later becoming the head bookkeeper. She went on to serve the Caldwell County School Board, where she helped establish the Hope & Cope Center. She concluded her professional life as a payroll administrator for the school system.

Above all else, Bonnie loved her family. She found her greatest joy in caring for her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Dou-Do.”

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Stacey (Chris) Holeman; son, Troy (Jami) Nichols; two sisters, Charlotte (Bob) Stoneburner, Brenda Morse; sister-in-law, Bonnie Kay Armstrong, all of Princeton; brother-in-law, Buddy (Gracie) Nichols of Florida; six grandchildren, Boyce (Jessica) Nichols, Sidonia Nichols, Corbin Nichols, Timothy Nichols, Brady Holeman, Harper Holeman; one great-granddaughter, Dru Ann Nichols.

Charles “Red” Howton, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Caldwell Medical Center.

Red had a lifelong passion for fishing and farming, finding joy and peace in the outdoors he cherished. He loved his family deeply and took great pride in caring for them. A faithful member of Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church, Red lived his life with quiet strength, devotion, and kindness. He was born April 7, 1936 to the late Roy Davis and Aminell Holeman Howton.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Teresa (Donnie) Scott of Princeton; sister, Margarette Sigler of Princeton; brother, Ronnie Howton of Marion; beloved grandchildren, Bryan (Toni) Martin and Abby (Rob) Hodge; great-grandchildren, Joel Martin, Graham Hodge, Greyson Hodge and Hunter Hodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Ann Howton; sister, Joycedene Simpson; infant brother, Gary Davis Howton.

Dixie Caroline Barnes, 95, of Louisville, formerly of Princeton, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Harmony at Tucker Station in Louisville.

She was born on December 18, 1930, in Caldwell County, Kentucky, to her late parents, Percy and Nannie Bealmear Cash. Dixie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by hard work. An avid reader, she made weekly trips to the library in search of new books, and she found joy in gardening and cooking for her family. After raising her family, Dixie began her career with South Central Bell, spending ten years there, starting as an operator and finishing as a service representative. She later worked for five years as a teller at Farmers Bank before earning her real estate license in her sixties and completing her career as a realtor, a role she truly loved, especially exploring different homes and floor plans.

Dixie is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Jo Barnes of Louisville; two sons, David C. (Debbie) Barnes of Louisville, Ricky Z. (Stacey) Barnes of Nashville; sister, Juanita Hunsaker of Princeton; three grandchildren, Jonathan (Bethany) Barnes of Nashville, TN, Kyle (Kristie) Barnes of White Pine, TN; Joshua (Irina) Reynolds of Louisville; five great-grandchildren, Griffin Barnes, London Barnes, Ryker Barnes, Caroline Reynolds, Lyla Reynolds; several nieces and nephews.

Virginia Nell Johnson, age 80, formerly of Princeton, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence in Russell, Kentucky.

Born in Caldwell County in 1945, Virginia began her career as a bookkeeper at Farmers Bank, where she later retired after 34 years as Vice President. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church and was actively involved in several church groups and Bible studies.

Virginia enjoyed working on cross word puzzles, but above all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren—whether visiting them in person or spending hours with them on FaceTime. They were truly the joy of her life.

Virginia Nell Johnson is survived by her daughter, Shayna (Chris) Langston of Lexington, KY; her son, Michael “Mike” (Malisha) Johnson of Ashland, KY; one sister, Donra Gilkey of Princeton; three grandchildren, Drew Langston, Seth Langston, and Kyle Johnson; as well as several nieces and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Jim” Johnson, and her parents, Larue Newsom and Mary Bell Newsom.

Ashley was a deeply creative soul whose talents and passions brought beauty and comfort to those around her. She was a master of latch hook work, creating pieces that reflected her patience, skill, and artistic spirit. Ashley enjoyed reading and found joy in watching her favorite movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas, which perfectly matched her unique and imaginative personality. She had a great love for animals, showing kindness and compassion to all living things. Above all else, Ashley’s greatest love was her family, who meant everything to her and remained at the center of her heart.

She is survived by father, Howard T. Pendley, Jr. of Mortons Gap; mother, Machelle D. Traylor and husband, Jamie Traylor of Kuttawa; her daughter, Aayah Jenkins of Lexington; sons, Cameron Burchett and Ethan Burchett both of Princeton; brothers, Howard T. Leola "Lee" Anderson, passed away at the age of 96 on the last day of the year 2025, at Baptist Health of Paducah. She was born on May 3, 1929, in Ashley County, Arkansas.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilford J. "Butch" Anderson, Leola's, father, Linnie Doss, mother and father, Leida Roark Pope and Wylie Pope, and 10 siblings. She was the loving mother of Dee Ross of Kansas City, KS, Sandra Monroe of Princeton, KY, Doris Belcher of Princeton, KY, and her son Joseph "Joe" Anderson of Princeton, KY. Through her children, Lee's legacy blossomed with her grandchildren, Mary Richardson, Ronda Gray, April Maulsby, Bobbi Jo Dunlap, Angie Nichols, Josh Monroe, Jessica Rogers, Perry Odell, Amber Spears, Megan Curtner, Brittany Wray, Nathan Anderson, and Elijah Anderson, as well as 30 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

During World War II, Lee served her country with determination, working in an ammunition factory, contributing to the war effort. Her resolve during those times was a testament to her character, resilient, committed, and patriotic. After the war, she continued to dedicate her time and energy to her community, becoming a familiar and welcoming face as a greeter for Wal-Mart, with her bright smile.

She was happy when indulging in her favorite pastimes of playing Bingo, cards, and quilting.

Her departure is a loss to all who were fortunate enough to know her, as she leaves behind cherished memories and an example of a life well-lived. She will be remembered as a woman who was the cornerstone of her family. Leola "Lee" Anderson's love and kindness will continue to reside in the hearts of those she loved.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:30 Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Morgan's Funeral Home.

Tristian "Trissy" Rayeanne Frost, age 27, of Fredonia, passed away December 29, 2025 at Crittenden County Hospital.

Trissy was born September 2, 1998 to James Arnold (Rebecca) Frost and the late Tanya Harris-Frost. Trissy Frost was a beloved member of the Fredonia community and a familiar, friendly face at the Dollar General, in Eddyville, where she worked and brightened the days of everyone she met. A true social butterfly, Trissy never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued. She was known for her kind heart, joyful laughter, and generous spirit, always willing to give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. She was an avid reader, dedicated fan, and fun loving soul. Above all else, Trissy loved her family, who were the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. She held friendships as close as family and ensured those she cared about knew her love for them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jerry "Spike" Patterson, a man known for his spirited zest for life and his need for speed, passed away on December 28, 2025, in Greenville, KY, at the age of 84. Born on October 3, 1941, in Caldwell County, KY, Spike was a man who lived his life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell Donald Patterson and Geneva Cooper Bates, and his siblings, Peggy Cochran and Steven Patterson.

He is survived by his daughter, Deanna Baugh, and her husband, Kevin; step mother, Jeri Patterson; his bonus daughter, Charly Todd, and her husband, Jacob; and his son, Ryan Patterson, and his wife, Robin, they were the centerpieces of his life. Spike's legacy continued through his cherished grandchildren, Dylan Baugh, Dallas Gould, Jonah Gould, Nathan Carson, Gaven Gould, and Tori Walker, and his great-grandchild, Aubrey Gould, sister, Stacey Patterson, and brother, Dan Patterson.

Spike's professional life was marked by his dedication and hard work as a retired electrician for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Through his professional endeavors, Spike served his country with pride in the Army Reserve, where he learned the value of service and community.

Spike's interests were as bold and dynamic as his personality. He had a passion for racing his Nova. His garage was a place where he could tinker with mud trucks and indulge in his love for 4-wheeling. Spike's membership in the Shriners was a testament to his commitment to brotherhood and community service.

Spike's spirit will continue to race through the memories of those he leaves behind, reminding them to embrace every moment with the same fervor and passion he did.

Jerry "Spike" Patterson, had a life well-lived, a race well-run. He has crossed the finish line of life with the same gusto with which he lived it, leaving us with cherished memories and hearts full.

Mrs. Peggy Childress Gilkey, 79, of Newburgh, Indiana, and formerly of Princeton, Kentucky, passed peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Brickyard Healthcare - Woodlands in Newburgh, IN.

She was the daughter of the late James and Geneva Childress. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Gilkey; her son, James Barnes; her sister, Anna Jeanette (Childress) Gilkey; and her brother, Michael Childress.

Survivors include her son, Dr. Chris Gilkey (Alicia); grandchildren, Taylor Gilkey, Nathan Gilkey (Brenna), Lauren Herr (Max), and Lindsey Gilkey (Daniel Durchholz); great-grandchildren, Elsy Gilkey, Beau Gilkey, Gretchen Herr, and Anderson Herr; her niece, Carrie Childress; her brother, Brad Childress (Teresa).

Peggy attended Caldwell County High School in Princeton, Kentucky, and worked for many years in the restaurant business in Princeton. She was a charter member of the Caldwell County, Kentucky Genealogical Society, a member of the Tri-State Genealogy Society, Friends of Willard Library, and Friends of the Glenn A. Martin Genealogy Library.

Peggy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Princeton, KY. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Ohio Valley Chapter, in Evansville, Indiana, where she served as Registrar. Alongside her husband, Kenneth, she also served as Webmaster for the chapter website for 11 years and participated in numerous parades and community events.

Peggy devoted her life to family, history, and service. She was a proud Kentucky Colonel and a passionate genealogist who spent countless hours preserving family stories and histories so future generations would always know where they came from. Her dedication to heritage was more than a hobby-it was her legacy. Peggy will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at Fairview Cemetery.
