🌑🔥 New Moon + Lunar New Year Ceremony 🔥🌑

There is a new beginning moving through the air.

As we enter the Lunar New Year and the quiet power of the New Moon, we gather to honor renewal, intention, and pili — sacred connection.

This evening will be a weaving of story, stillness, and sound.

✨ Storytelling with Hannah — one of her original creative works shared live as story and sound intertwine
✨ Yin + Sound with Victoria — a grounding yin practice followed by deep relaxation with crystal bowls and drum
✨ One gentle Moon Salutation to honor the lunar cycle

Held at The Akamu Temple
🗓 Tuesday, February 17
⏰ 5:15pm

Limited spaces available.

Come root.
Come soften.
Come begin again.

Before words, there was breath.
Before commerce, there was anointing.
Before separation, there was relationship.

Our ritual oils are created in reverence to the elements and the ʻike of those who came before —
when plants were teachers
and the body was a sacred place to listen.

Pikake carries the medicine of the heart.
In Hawaiian culture, its fragrance is associated with love, devotion, and gentle remembrance.
It softens grief.
Opens feeling.
Calls us back into tenderness and connection.

ʻIliahi (Hawaiian Sandalwood) carries the wisdom of the earth.
A grounding, anchoring medicine long used to steady the spirit and quiet the mind.
It reminds us where we stand.
It brings us home to ourselves.

We are preparing to release our second small-batch ritual oil — Sacred ʻIliahi —
crafted with deep respect for this ancestral plant and its lineage.

Two oils.
Heart and root.
Water and earth.

This is not skincare.
This is hoʻomana — devotion made tangible.

Created in remembrance. Offered in reverence.

Pikake is available now.
ʻIliahi is coming soon.

Pili reminds us that connection is not something we force —
it is something we cultivate.

In February, pili invites us to:
• Stay close to what feels true
• Tend our relationships with care
• Notice where we belong — and where we no longer need to hold on

Pili lives in the way we breathe together.
In the way we listen without fixing.
In the way we offer touch with presence and consent.

At Akamu, our work this month is simple:
to restore pili —
with ourselves,
with one another,
and with the living world around us.

Layers shaped by pressure.
Strength born through fire.

At Akamu, we honor the places within us that have endured —
the quiet resilience, the depth, the wisdom that cannot be rushed.
Healing is not about becoming something new.
It is about remembering what you are made of.

Resilient.
Alive.

Winter invites us to slow down.
To soften the body, quiet the mind, and return to what truly nourishes.

The Winter Yin + Ayurveda + Breath Seasonal Module, guided by Victoria, is an invitation to move in rhythm with the season — supporting deep rest, nervous system balance, and sustainable self-care through the colder months.

This seasonal module weaves together:
• Yin yoga to support connective tissue and joint health
• Ayurvedic wisdom for winter rhythms, nourishment, and daily ritual
• Breath practices to calm the nervous system and cultivate inner warmth

In addition to the practices and teachings, the module includes a 30-minute private coaching session with Victoria, offering personalized guidance and support for integrating these tools into daily life throughout the winter season.

This offering is not about doing more.
It is about listening, slowing down, and tending to the body with care.

Sound is vibration — and vibration moves beautifully through water. 🌊✨
Our bodies are made of roughly 60–70% water, which means we don’t just hear sound… we feel it.

In sound healing, frequencies ripple through the water in the body, moving through tissues, organs, and the nervous system. Just like waves traveling through the ocean, sound waves travel through our inner waters, gently guiding the body out of fight-or-flight and into rest, regulation, and repair.

This is why sound healing isn’t something you “do.”
It’s something you receive.

Sound healing can support:
🔹 reduced stress and anxiety
🔹 nervous system regulation
🔹 emotional release and integration
🔹 improved mood and mental clarity
🔹 deeper relaxation and sleep

What you may notice after a sound bath:
✨ slower, fuller breathing
✨ softened jaw, neck, and shoulders
✨ a quieter mind and spacious awareness
✨ a feeling of being grounded, held, and restored

Sound healing is not a replacement for medical or mental health care, but it can be a powerful complementary practice for restoring balance in an overstimulated world.

You don’t need to understand the science.
You don’t need to try.
Your body already knows how to respond. 🌙🎶

If your system has been craving a deep exhale, let sound hold you.

Save this for later and share it with someone who needs nervous system nourishment.

Hawaiian Word of the Month: Mālie 🤍
(mah-lee-eh)

Mālie means calm, still, peaceful — the gentle quiet that settles when the wind softens and the ocean smooths itself out.

In Hawaiian wisdom, mālie is more than silence.
It’s a state of being.
A calm within the body.
A clarity within the mind.
A peace that allows us to listen more deeply — to ourselves, to each other, and to the land.

This month, we invite you to move a little slower.
Breathe a little deeper.
Create space for stillness amid the movement of life.

May you find mālie in the early morning light,
in the rhythm of your breath,
and in the moments you choose presence over rush.

E komo mai ka mālie — may calmness enter.
