My son is 8 years old today!!! Looking back at this pregnancy photoshoot fills me with so much gratitude. I remember wanting to share how powerful and important yoga was during that season — not for staying “fit,” but for staying connected.
When I first became pregnant, I thought I would miss my power yoga practice. Instead, pregnancy became its own practice — softer, deeper, more intuitive. Prenatal yoga grounded my busy mind, supported my changing body, and helped me bond with my baby in the most beautiful way.
✨ Trimester reminders:
• 1st: Rest, modify, no intense core/inversions. Listen deeply.
• 2nd: Energy returns — move mindfully, avoid lying flat on your back.
• 3rd: Focus on breathwork, pelvic floor strength, meditation, fascia release, and supported flows.
Here’s the simple standing flow I loved (20–45 mins, let breath guide you):
🌿 Foot myofascial release (2 mins each foot with ball)
🌿 Wide-stance Surya A (cat/cow → downdog → step forward)
🌿 Modified Surya B (chair → low lunge → high crescent → repeat other side)
🌿 Tree pose (1 min each side)
🌿 Warrior 2 → Triangle → Exalted Warrior → Side Angle flow (both sides)
🌿 Goddess pose x5
🌿 Optional final modified Surya A
🌿 Finish with foot release + side-lying savasana

I’ve been quiet here because witnessing war, displacement, and state violence, has been sitting heavy in my body and my heart.

Yoga, for me, has never been about escaping the world, but about learning how to stay present with what is, even when it’s uncomfortable or heartbreaking.

This practice supports my nervous system so I can remain awake, resourced, and responsive rather than numb or collapsed. But regulation is not the end goal it’s truly the groundwork, the beginning. One of my dear teachers shared this week that there is no personal liberation without collective liberation, and no practice that exists only for the self, this resonated with me hard.

So why the long post?

Well my friends, my hope is that you come to your mat to breathe, ground, and remember your capacity, and then take whatever action is within reach for you. This is where yoga moves beyond the mat and becomes relationship, responsibility, and care for one another.

Kauai has had my ❤️ since my first visit here to Noah's home in 2011. We moved here together after knowing each other only for 6 months- wild right? And honestly, it is where our love blossomed. (And its eventually where we conceived our son in 2017!)

But that first trip was something truly magical. It was my forst international trip ever at just 23 years old, fresh out of graduating university. I ran my first yoga retreats for the outrigger canoe club women I was paddling with. I paddled daily with our team in Hanalei and had an incredible coach who pushed me hard and saw my potential. I loved it. I volunteered at a community organic garden and helped write a grant to get seed saving equipment to help the island become more suatainable. I learnt how to surf with Noah pushing me into a million waves and surfed worldclass waves as an absolute beginner. We frolicked the Napali coast trail weekly on trail runs amd camping trips with friends. I got to know Noah so deeply during that first epic year.

Every single time we come back here we remember those days while building new memories together.

Stepping into this new year, the year of the fire dragon, I am ready for fierce powerful things to arrive. I am attracting abundance and health. I am feeling patient yet driven and I hope the same for each and every one of you.

May this year bring us all exactly what we are seeking. And as always, may we make time for ourselves each and every day.

I truly believe that we should do some form of stretching every single day. This site is designed to inspire your daily practice, give you ideas of how to progress, and provide tools to educate you on your body and its bio-mechanical movement patterns.

As a high school Science teacher, I have always been passionate about the human body, and now bring basic anatomy into each yoga class I teach.
