A few of our amazing residents and staff had an unforgettable day out on the water, thanks to the incredible Let’s Go Fishing crew from Scott County! 🌊💙

This awesome organization brings joy to our community through relaxing fishing and boating adventures—and we’ve been lucky to join them for the past few years. Each trip gets better than the last!

Our residents absolutely love spending time on beautiful Cedar Lake in New Prague. The catch-and-release fun brings laughter, stories, and memories that will last a lifetime. 🐠💬✨

🎓 Another Graduation Celebration! 🎉

Join us in celebrating our incredible Life Engagement Coach, Dr. Blake Johnson, who graduated this past Friday from North Dakota State University with a Ph.D. in History! 👨‍🎓📜

His groundbreaking dissertation, “Creating Slow Violence: War, Nature, and the Origins of Environmental Injustice, 1854–1898”, explores the historical roots of environmental injustice — a powerful and timely contribution to the field.

In addition to earning his doctorate, Dr. Johnson was also honored with:
🏅 The 2023 Outstanding Graduate Research Award
🏅 The 2024 Morrill Endowed Prize for History

We are incredibly proud of his achievements and can’t wait to see where his journey leads next. Congratulations, Dr. Johnson! 🎉👏

We had some wild visitors this past Monday! 🐢🐍🐜🐾 A big thank you to the Minnesota Zoo for bringing some incredible animals to meet our residents. Everyone loved meeting Artemis the 3-Banded Armadillo, Pokey the Box Turtle, a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach, and Clyde the Ball Python.

It was a unique and exciting experience, especially getting the chance to touch these amazing creatures! For many, it was a step outside their comfort zone, but they embraced it and had a blast.

Thanks again to the Minnesota Zoo for such a fun and educational visit! 🧡
