Other refinements include revised categorization rules for amitriptyline, removal of clinical consideration 4 from paroxetine when variation is present in HTR2A, and updated phenotype language for the HLA genes. These enhancements to the GeneSight test are based on a comprehensive analysis of peer-reviewed literature.

The updated test is available for prescribing clinicians on starting today. If clinicians have previously ordered the test for patients, they may upgrade their report at no cost to the clinician or the patient though their myGeneSight.com portal.

The mental health of youth in particular is worsening, yet 60% of this group did not receive treatment in 2017-2018.
