Michael Palmerie Jr is running for reelection for his third term on the Town Council. As you can see from his bio below, he has been working for the residents of Prospect for many years and proves to bring knowledge and experience to his position on the Council.



I have been a resident in Prospect for over 39 years. My wife, a lifelong resident and I have raised our four children in this great small town. Our kids were educated in the Region 16 school system and have gone on to further their educations successfully and now enjoy rewarding careers. All four are raising their families in Prospect. Our youngest daughter, Raven, is a teacher in Region 16 and our son Mike is working with the Public Works Department and is a member of the Water Pollution Control Board. Our daughter Elizabeth and our son Mike are volunteer firefighters and EMT’s for the Volunteer Fire Dept. of Prospect. Civic service and pride in our town of Prospect have been of utmost importance to our family.

At the age of 19, I put a business plan together, created a budget and negotiated all the aspects to launch M&C Vending, I sold the company in 2019. We had a vision of opening a funeral home. Once again, we sat down and we thought about how, why, where and when we would be doing this and ultimately created Prospect Memorial Funeral Home with our partners. We have since become sole owners. We are so confident in the future of Prospect that we designed and built our custom building and gardens in the Gateway area of Prospect. The added parking, beautifully appointed building and Serenity Garden is a wonderful asset to our small town. Kim offers free workshops, seminars and bereavement groups as a service to our townspeople and surrounding communities.

My whole life I’ve been managing, organizing, creating and orchestrating business and budgets while negotiating working with people to attain goals. With this background, I have enjoyed being on the Board of Recreation for 15 years and the last seven as Chair, prior to being elected to the Town Council. It has been my honor to serve as Chair of the Town Council this past year.

I have had the pleasure of working hand-in-hand with the Mayor, the Town Council, the Park and Rec Director and the Board of Rec to plan and create the large soccer field at Hotchkiss, baseball field, bathrooms, the” Play scape”, the volleyball court, Concerts on the Green and Summer Camp and most recently the band stand. All of these provide positive outlets for our youth at a time when so many are struggling. I have been instrumental in the opening of Caplan Park, the ice-skating rink and recently one of my favorite projects was working hand in hand with the Mayor, Town Council and the town residents in creating the Rec Center. In closing, with my experience in working with the Mayor, Town Council and the residents of Prospect as well as being a business owner, it would be my honor and privilege to serve on Town Council once again.
