birth can pull you inward like that, and that’s okay.

my hope as your doula is not that you’re aware of me every moment, but that you feel safe enough to let go.
that you feel seen without having to explain yourself. heard without having to ask.
supported without having to direct.

When my fourth baby was born at home I learned that no matter how prepared you are, birth is intense and unpredictable, and trying to go through it without support is hard.

I quickly realized that even with my husband by my side (who was amazing), I needed someone whose whole role was to focus on me and my birth. Someone to notice the little things, protect my space, and help guide me when things felt overwhelming.

Most women don’t realize what real birth support feels like until they don’t have it. I’ve been there and I want you to know you don’t have to figure it out alone. It is what inspired me to become a doula in 2022. Birth asks a lot of you and the right support makes all the difference.

This verse, Ephesians 3:20, is the heartbeat of Daydream Holistic Birth. There’s a reason this verse stays close to me, especially in birth work.

Ephesians 3:20 reminds me that even in the moments when I feel stretched thin or unsure, God is already doing more behind the scenes than I could ever imagine.

For me, daydreaming is so much more than drifting off to the space where your wildest hopes go to live. It’s prayer in motion. It’s the quiet space where I lay down my thoughts, hopes, and fears and ask God to shape them. It’s where I feel His nudge and remember that He sees the full picture long before I do.

Birth has a way of bringing us face-to-face with our limits. But it also brings us face-to-face with His strength. When a woman leans into her breath, her faith, and her own God-given power, something sacred happens. In our weakest moments, He’s steady. In our uncertainty, He’s already answering.

This verse is my reminder that whatever we ask for, whatever we imagine for our births or our lives, God can do more. Far more.

And that truth gives me peace every time I walk into a birth space. I hope it gives you that same peace.
