ABCs of ABA: L is for Latency ⏱️

Latency is the time between when an instruction is given and when the behavior begins. For example, if a therapist says, β€œClap your hands,” and the child claps after 3 seconds, that’s a latency of 3 seconds. Measuring latency helps us understand how quickly a child responds, so we can tailor supports and encourage faster, more independent responses over time.
