I received a sweet thank you gift yesterday that brought tears to my eyes as I sat in my office. It’s not about the gift, because material things are beautiful + nice, but the gesture behind it. The thought that this wonderful woman who has poured her love + dedication into making milk for her baby for a whole year, thought of me when she was celebrating. 🥹

I share this to encourage you mamas. To find someone who fits into your corner that helps you reach your goals. To keep pushing when things get hard. To follow your mom gut, even if someone else is telling you different.

Yeah, gifts are sweet. But this feeling I experienced opening this letter, there’s nothing more valuable. ✨

Happy one year, sweet friend! I am so proud! 🫶🏼🤱🏼🎉

Sweet little first time mama 10 years ago… I was so naive. I truly thought, I’m a labor nurse, how hard could it be. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Breech baby only latching in FB on R side ✅ Oversupply ✅ massive fl**ge sizes ✅ scheduled feedings ✅ clogged ducts + mastitis ✅ choking at the breast ✅ use of unsafe car seat accessories ✅ use of pacifiers that did nothing to assist nursing or oral function ✅

But if I knew then, what I know now… 🥹

By the way, this beautiful boy + our 15 month journey is what led me to become your IBCLC 🩵

The sweeeetest little girl that won my heart over with her smile, pigtails, and precious outfits graduated today! 🎓

Her mom initially reached out following her mom gut with discomfort with nursing. We worked diligently on oral exercises, chiro and CST work, and oral restriction release. Adding in a distracted and teething baby to the mix, but they are overcoming! 🎉🎉🎉

She has jumped up on her growth curve, moving more milk, and drastic improvement in the comfort while nursing. 🤱🏻
