Next, we’re thrilled to introduce Cali Boustani!

Cali recently joined the as a masters student researcher.

A California native, she comes to Brown from University of San Diego after graduating with a degree in Behavioral Neuroscience.

Cali mainly works in commercialization and monetization on the business side of SOMA for her masters thesis, and is interested in learning how science and business intersect. She also helps with management of the lab — scheduling, organizing, and generally helping out with workflow for the team.

Outside of SOMA, Cali considers herself a “health nut” and loves all things to do with mental and physical well-being. Soon, she’ll be running in a marathon!

Next up, the wonderful Nova Chen!

Nova is from New Milford, CT and recently joined as a Research Assistant.

She helps with SOMA app support, study outreach and recruitment, and running the EEG substudy.

Outside of SOMA, Nova dances with TEMPO at Brown and also runs a handmade jewelry business.

Last but certainly not least, we’re proud to introduce our amazing project lead Dr. Frederike Petzschner!

Dr. Petzschner comes to Brown from Germany, and has seen SOMA through it’s entire lifespan. As project lead, she oversees all of the many moving pieces of the project. Her leadership and dedication to the project make her a truly invaluable member of the .

Outside of SOMA, Dr. Petzschner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior as well as at the Carney Institute for Brain Science at Brown. She also heads the Psychiatry, Embodiment and Computation (PEAC) lab and the Brainstorm Program at Carney.
