A reminder to join us for our upcoming community hike.

On Saturday, April 25, we’ll gather at Breakheart Pond for an afternoon of walking, fresh air, and connection. It’s an opportunity to step outside the studio, move at a natural pace, and spend time together in a quieter setting.

Simple movement in nature offers a different kind of awareness - steady, rhythmic, and unforced.

Stress accumulates in the body. Tension in the shoulders, tightness in the hips, a mind that won't slow down - most of us recognize this pattern, even if we can't always name it.

Forward bends are one of the most effective tools yoga offers for addressing all of it.

As the spine lengthens and the head drops below the heart, something shifts. The breath deepens. The mind follows. It happens without trying - when the body is well-supported, the nervous system responds.

If you've been curious about our classes, or you've been away for a while, this is a good week to come back!

The rope wall offers a different way of seeing practice.

In the tradition of Yoga Kurunta, ropes are used not to “do more,” but to refine how we understand alignment, support, and extension in the body.

When the body is supported, attention becomes clearer. When effort is reduced, perception becomes more precise.

In this workshop, we will explore classical Iyengar asanas with the assistance of the rope wall. The ropes provide traction and stability, allowing the joints to soften and the spine to lengthen without strain.

This work can be especially valuable for those who appreciate:
• A more measured, intelligent approach to asana
• Support in standing and inverted actions
• Careful attention to alignment and joint space
• The experience of strength without compression

The practice is accessible, though not simplistic. It invites curiosity rather than ambition, and steadiness rather than intensity.

All levels are welcome. No prior rope experience is required.

This week, we are focusing on standing poses in class.

Through careful alignment and steady attention, these postures help build strength, balance, and a deeper understanding of the body.

Whether you are new or experienced, standing poses offer an essential foundation for practice.

Tension in the hips is a common source of discomfort, often affecting the lower back and limiting ease of movement.

In this focused class, we’ll explore how the hips function in relation to the spine. Through careful, step-by-step instruction, you’ll learn how to identify areas of restriction and work with them using precise action and support.

This is not about stretching deeply, but about understanding how to create space and stability where it’s needed.

If you've been meaning to try yoga — or come back to it — this is a good moment.

Our Beginner Series is already underway on Wednesdays at 7:00pm, but you can still join and take part in four classes. The series is designed to build progressively, so every week makes sense on its own while also connecting to what comes next.

Expect detailed, unhurried instruction, a carefully chosen set of props to support every pose, and a small group where you'll actually be seen — not just observed from across the room.

No prior experience needed. No particular flexibility required. Just a willingness to show up and pay attention.

We have one spot remaining. If this has been on your list, now is the time.

Standing poses form the foundation of practice.

They teach us how to distribute weight evenly, how to activate the legs, and how to organize the spine with clarity and support.

In Iyengar Yoga, these poses are not simply about standing - they are a study of alignment, balance, and awareness.

This week, we’ll explore how careful attention in standing poses builds a stable base for all other postures.

Join us for a community hike.

On Saturday, April 25, we’ll gather at Breakheart Pond for an afternoon in nature - an opportunity to step away from routine, enjoy fresh air, and connect with fellow students outside the studio.

Walking in nature offers a different kind of practice. The rhythm of movement, the steadiness of the breath, and the natural surroundings invite a quieter, more attentive state.

All are welcome.

Consistent, guided practice leads to deeper understanding.

When instruction is tailored and responsive, the body begins to organize itself more efficiently. Effort becomes more balanced, and awareness becomes more steady.

Over time, this approach builds not just strength and flexibility, but clarity in how we move and how we observe.

This is where the practice begins to extend beyond the mat.

Every four weeks, we move through the same cycle: standing poses, forward bends, backbends, restoratives and pranayama. It's a structure that builds steadily over time.
This week, we set it aside.

Teacher's Choice week is exactly what it sounds like — your teachers bring what they're working on, what they're curious about, what they want to explore with you in the room. No two classes will look exactly the same.
Come see what's on their minds this week.

If you've been considering a more immersive experience, Cindy and Kathleen are leading a retreat in Enfield this September — a quiet, focused setting to continue this work. Details at iyengaryogasource.com/enfield-2026.

Restorative practice invites us to slow down in a very deliberate way.

With the support of props, the body is placed so that effort can release without losing structure. In that support, the breath settles and the mind begins to quiet.

This week, we’ll explore how careful setup and attention to detail allow rest to become both active and aware.

This week, we are focusing on restorative yoga in class.

These poses use props to support the body so it can release effort while maintaining awareness. With careful setup and attention to alignment, restorative practice helps calm the nervous system and bring steadiness to the mind.

Whether you are feeling fatigued, managing stress, or simply looking to slow down, restorative yoga offers a thoughtful and supportive approach.
