The Brooks Community Health Center

Our pilot location will be in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa. Our goal is to build and open the health Center by 2023.

Mission Statement
The Brooks Community Health Center (TBCHC) is a nonprofit health care establishment that delivers high-quality, low-cost health care for the underprivileged; and provide a competitive and recognized learning environment for all. We are building a community health center (six buildings) in Monrovia that will provide outpatient services such as a laboratory, pharmacy, imaging center (CT-scan, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammogram, DEXA, Xray), Maternal Child Health (prenatal/labor/delivery/postpartum/nursery/neonatal ICU), physical therapy, parametric testing center, community educational services and physician living quarters. We are doing so via active fundraising and applying for grants. All funds raised will be used to build the clinic in West Africa, equip the clinic, provide charity care on a sliding scale and pay for ongoing staffing of the clinic. We will charge a fee for some services as we look to be self-sustaining.

Meet the Vice Chair of our Board: Weayonnoh Nelson-Davies ⬇️⬇️⬇️

"I am a social justice attorney with a passion for addressing those social, legal and environmental barriers that affect health.

I was grateful for the opportunity to travel with TBCHC to Liberia in April 2021 for the groundbreaking ceremony and to talk to community members about their needs. They shared that some of their healthcare barriers were poverty, transportation, preventative services and health education. They offered prayers so that they could have an affordable health center right in their very own community to address some of those needs.

The first phase of building this community health center is to lay the foundation.

Our Services

· SERVICES

Starting out with the development of our clinic, TBCHC will offer a variety of basic medical services that are required to maintain a healthy standard of living today.

o Sick Visits: This constitutes any kind of sick/illness concern visit.

o Annual Physical Exams: Annual physical exams will be administered to all interested.

o Prenatal Care: Available on a multi-visit basis, women will have access to quality prenatal care during their pregnancy and a continuation of care that includes their babies after delivery.

o Lab Services: Blood testing and other services will provide bigger medical pictures.

o Imaging: Depending on the imaging requirement, TBCHC will keep the cost as low as possible.

o Individual/Family Insurance: Access to affordable insurance plans for individuals and families of all sizes.

o Elderly Assistance: Not including the cost of medication, we’re developing an elderly support system.

Our organization is making strategic alliances with key players in a healthcare system. We’re working to align with:

o Hospitals

o Healthcare Associations

o Medical Colleges & Universities

o Pharmacies

We’re passionate about a multi-strategic effort to curate a country-wide system that is conducive to good health practices and sustainability moving forward.

Our programs include:

o Outpatient family medicine clinic: Our outpatient facility will include exam rooms, a physical therapy/occupational therapy room, an ophthalmology room, a dental room, and the list goes on.

o Inpatient labor & delivery and C-section suite: Our inpatient suite will contain labor and delivery rooms, postpartum rooms, nursery, Level II neonatal ICU, parental education room and more.

o Laboratory: Our lab will support both inpatient and outpatient testing with clinical pathology, hematology, immunology, chemistry, and so forth.

o Pharmacy: Accessible 24-7, the pharmacy will support both inpatient and outpatient services.

o Imaging center: Our imagining center will include an x-ray room, a mammography room, an ultrasound room, a DEXA scan room, and the list goes on.

o Community facilities: Will include adult literacy classes, trade training, a Prometric testing center, and other events.

o Residential quarters: Will include studio apartments for short-term accommodation of traveling physicians, as well as apartments for senior living.
