Educating The Future Nurses Of Tomorrow We are the first public charter high school in the U.S. We currently serve students from 19 school districts.

The Rhode Island Nurses Institute Middle College Charter High School, located in Providence, opened during the summer of 2011 to educate the next generation of nurses with a focus on health technology, public health, and home-based care. focused on nursing and health care and the first middle college in the State of RI. How RINIMC is different? Tuition is completely free
Open to any Rhode Island high school student
Enrolls through a blind lottery process
4 year program, starting at the 10th grade
Students take some courses at URI and CCRI
Saves students one year of college tuition
Educates nurses under a new paradigm that emphasizes public health and home-based care
Offers certification in CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), CPR, and First Aid
The Nurses Middle College students are afforded a rigorous high school curricula, early college classes, and exposure to the nursing profession. Students entering the 10th are allowed to enroll as first year students after successfully completing their 9th grade year at another school. Students who are successful in their first and second years take a combination of high school and college courses through URI and CCRI during their third and fourth years. After 4 years in our program, students are able to start at the University of Rhode Island as a sophomore (2nd year student). The Nurses Middle College pays for the early college courses empowering its students by lowering the overall cost of their education. Early college exposure orientates students to the demands of higher education and increases the likelihood of college graduation.

Congratulations Dr. Clancy Teacher with a Heart for December

Students understand very quickly that they are the masters of their education because Dr. Clancy does not coddle students and holds to the standards that are outlined on day one. Rather than push students to succeed, he guides, supports, and encourages through the high expectations that have been set because at the end of the day, it is on his students to perform.

Dr. Clancy has created a wonderful environment for learning, and even their tears are proof of their growth and resilience.
