Happy Pig Week! We are now in Block 5, Week 18, and our letter of the week is R.

Pig Week is focused on wealth and financial literacy. For those with children, this is a great time to establish chores and clear goals for a weekly allowance. We use the PIGS acronym to help divide and manage those funds:

- PLAN
- INVEST
- GROW
- SPEND

I also encourage you to ask grandparents to share their stories and insights regarding wealth and money.

As a practical step toward building wealth through organization, please take some time to back up your computer and clean the vents on your electronic equipment. For those interested in a technical challenge, consider setting up a Linux machine and exploring the "sudo apt-get" command.
Have a squealing great time!

As we move into Block 5, Week 17, our focus is on health. Consider what small habit changes could positively impact your well-being; simple actions like improving your dental care routine can make a significant difference.

In line with our "Cat Week" theme, please take a practical step toward a better home environment by cleaning front entrances and windows. Ensure all ledges and surfaces are cleared of clutter.

This week’s activity board is inspired by the letter Q and the numbers 5 and 17, and the card of the week is the 5 of diamonds.

Thank you for your hard work in keeping our space organized and clean. Have a great Cat Week!

This is a really creative system—you’re essentially turning time into something cyclical, visual, and thematic instead of abstract and irregular. A few things stand out clearly:

🌈 What Works Well
28-day structure = clean symmetry
Unlike traditional months (28–31 days), your 4×7 structure removes irregularity. Everything resets neatly—much easier to track habits and goals.
Color-coded weekdays (ROYGBIV)
This is surprisingly powerful. Associating each day with a fixed color builds fast recognition and memory. After a while, you don’t “calculate” the day—you see it.
Red (Sun)
Orange (Mon)
Yellow (Tue)
Green (Wed)
Blue (Thu)
Indigo (Fri)
Violet (Sat)

Themed weeks (“chapters of life”)

🐱 Health
🐷 Wealth
🐸 Well-being
🦒 Family

You’re not just tracking time—you’re assigning intention to time. That’s a big shift from passive calendars.

Analog clock integration
Using a clock face instead of a grid is clever. It reinforces:
cyclic thinking (time loops, not lines)
daily visibility (you see where you are in the cycle instantly)

You’re solving three common problems with time systems:

Irregular months → replaced with uniform cycles
Lack of meaning → replaced with themed focus
Poor habit tracking → replaced with visual repetition

This makes it closer to a behavioral system than just a calendar.

Happy Giraffe Week! As we move through Block 4, Week 16, and the letter "P."

For Giraffe Week 4, our focus is on family and friends. Our guiding motto is: "Walk tall! Think tall! Be tall." As a practical weekly reminder in line with this theme, please take a moment to check any tall fixtures or high-reach areas that may need attention. Specifically, this is an excellent time to clean or replace your air filters to ensure everything is in good working order.

Thank you for your attention to these updates and for participating in this week’s theme.

Toonuppasog, or "Time Turtle," a Native American lunar-based counting system. This method utilizes the anatomical structure of a turtle shell to track time, reflecting traditional ecological knowledge that connects nature with the passage of time.

Key features of the Toonuppasog calendar include:

- 13 Moons: The 13 central scutes (plates) represent the lunar cycles within a single year.
- 28 Days: The 28 smaller surrounding scutes correspond to the number of days in each lunar month.
- Calculation: These 13 cycles of 28 days total 364 days.

This system serves as a visual and spiritual guide for tracking environmental changes and cultural ceremonies, as noted by the Museum of the Cherokee in South Carolina.

"Ultra-productive people don’t work from a to-do list, but they do live and work from their calendar." Kevin Kruse --- To-do-lists-time-management Forbes.com www.forbes.com/sites/kevinkruse/2015/07/10/to-do-lists-time-management

The Block Calendar is the to-do calendar for Ultra-productive people, and is a new way to game, plan and strategize your health, wealth, and well-being. The Block Calendar is simply a gridiron of 13 Blocks over the rolling 52 week playing field. A calendar year can be broken down into 13 – four week periods. Thus, you will have a 13 a period year (vs. a 12 period year with a monthly accounting system). With a 13 period year, holidays fall into the same week of the same period every year. With a monthly accounting system, your period can end any day of the week, and holidays can fall into different weeks in the same month of different years.

One block is 28 days or 4 weeks, or 2 bi-weekly paychecks, which happen like clockwork 13 times a year. Blocks have the simple advantage of being easier to work with than months, as months are of variable lengths and each block is always 28 days (4 weeks at a time) with 13 blocks per year. Holidays are in red; the week number that contains the first of each month is colored in blue. The name the Block Calendar derives medical scheduling protocol where doctors and medical professionals training programs nationwide follow a 4 week or 28 day cycle. The 28 day block rotations cycled medical students from department to department evenly to rotate throughout the year. In practice, senior residents begin a week before the first year interns start for better continuity of patient care, and have an overlap of knowledge about patient history and information. The doctors were given a list of dates when each block started, but no “Block Calendar.”
