Pulling the Thread with Elisa Loehnen, explores life’s big questions with today’s leading thinkers, experts, and luminaries: Why do we do what we do? How can we understand and love ourselves better? What would it look like to come together and build a more meaningful world?

Our therapists at Dyad are unique, dynamic, and warm individuals. Here's a glimpse of who we are outside of work.

Introducing Contessa Brown, LMHC 🌟

💎What are some small things in life that bring you joy?
💎Spending quality time with loved ones, my spirituality, being a foodie and dining out at different restaurants.

💎What kind of energy do you bring into a room?
💎I bring BIG energy. It is part of who I am and I am honored to bring my authentic self into spaces, giving others the same permission to show up as their authentic self.

💎 What are you currently enjoying or obsessed with?
💎I love to dance. It is a great way to release tension and also get grounded in my body. I hold gratitude for what my body can do.

💎Where do you go, physically or mentally, when you need to reset?
💎Going to my church and other places of worship is a place I enjoy being part of. India Point Park is a favorite place to reset.

Creating for the Resistance, a therapeutic group led by Casey Gallagher, LMHC, offers a neuro‑affirming space where anyone can make art, explore activism, and feel less alone.

Come as you are.

Mindful Monday 💫

Progress is not measured by how fast we move.

Sometimes the most skillful choice is pacing yourself and protecting your energy.

Sustainable change often grows through steady, manageable steps.

Today's Feature Friday recommendation comes from Dyad Psychology's AuDHD therapist, Casey Gallagher, LMHC, in honor of Autism Awareness month.

In Unmasking Autism, Dr. Devon Price, shares his personal experience with masking and blends history, social science research, and personal stories.

Most masked Autistic individuals struggle for decades before discovering who they truly are. They are also more likely to be marginalized in terms of race, gender, sexual orientation, class, and other factors, which contributes to their suffering and invisibility.

Dr. Price lays the groundwork for unmasking and offers exercises that encourage self-expression, including:

• Celebrating special interests
• Cultivating Autistic relationships
• Reframing Autistic stereotypes
• And rediscovering your values

This is a great read for anyone who is Autistic, questioning whether you are Autistic, or wondering how you can support a loved one who is Autistic.

If you are the parent of an Autistic or possibly Autistic child, looking for support, we invite you to explore our Holding it All group, led by Dr. Miriam Khiari. Check out the link in our bio or email miriam@dyadpsychology.com 🔗

Are you the caregiver of an autistic/possibly autistic child? Feeling overwhelmed and needing support?

Holding it All is a space that centers YOU - offering connection, emotional processing, grounding, and gentle guidance alongside others who "get it."

Parenting an autistic/possibly autistic child can feel overwhelming, and at times, deeply isolating. You may be doing everything you can and still feel like it's not enough or worry that you're not doing it "right."

This group offers a supportive space to step out of survival mode and feel less alone. With other parents who truly "get it," you'll have room to process your parenting experience, make meaning of what you're going through, and reconnect with yourself.

Through a combination of gentle tips and tricks to reconnect with yourself and thoughtful group conversation, we'll explore stress, burnout, grief, shame, attachment, sensory overwhelm, and nervous system regulation. This is not a parenting skills group - it's a space that centers YOU: your emotions, your body, and your wellbeing.

This group is led by Dr. Miriam Khiari, a psychologist with 10 years of diverse experience supporting autistic individuals and their families across therapy, evaluations, school-based settings, parent groups, and research on autism and motherhood.

Open to any parent/caregiver of an autistic/possibly autistic child, at any stage of the journey. No formal diagnosis is required. Come as you are.

Some things don't need to be carried alone.

Therapy offers a space to make sense of what feels tangled, to soften the edges of self-judgment, and to build tools that actually hold up in real life. Therapy is not about "fixing you" because you don't need to be "fixed" -- therapy is about supporting you through the difficult times and walking alongside you as you build more capacity to live the life you desire.

If this is something that resonates with you, please check out the therapists and programming at the link in our bio 🔗

People are carrying a lot more than they let on. Not everything needs to be solved. Some things just need somewhere to go. Sometimes we need a container to be held.

Creating for the Resistance is a space to move what's heavy through art, presence, and community.

No art experience needed. Just bring what you've been holding.

This Mindful Monday, we ask ✨ What are you blooming into this season?

Our most recent group session of H.E.R. (Heal Evolve Reclaim) Circle was rooted in springing into our future selves 🌱

We explored the qualities we are intentionally growing into… the parts of us that are ready to bloom, stretch, and be seen.

Through collaging, we gave those visions somewhere to live outside of our minds.

No pressure. No perfection. Just expression.

There’s something powerful about placing your becoming on paper… about letting your hands create what your spirit already knows.

Art without performance. Growth without judgment. Becoming in real time.

If this group speaks to you, we invite you to join Contessa Brown, LMHC, in an upcoming session or start your own moment of reflection today. Grab a few magazines, some scissors, and let your future self lead🌸
