Winter is peak season for flu, RSV, and other respiratory illnesses, but small steps can make a big difference.

✅ Stay up to date on recommended vaccines
✅ Wash hands often (and after coughing/sneezing)
✅ Keep gatherings safer with fresh air + staying home when sick
✅ Clean high-touch surfaces
✅ Check in on older adults and anyone with chronic conditions

Prevention protects our communities — especially those most at risk. 💙

Research suggests that up to 80 percent of infectious diseases are spread by hands that are not cleaned well or often enough. A simple 20-second wash with soap and water helps break the chain of infection in homes, schools, workplaces, and care settings.

During National Handwashing Awareness Week, we encourage everyone to:

▪️Wash before eating or preparing food
▪️Wash after using the bathroom or changing a diaper
▪️Wash after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose
▪️Wash when you return home from public places
▪️Scrub all parts of your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, then rinse and dry with a clean towel or air dry.

Clean hands support healthier patients, families, and communities.

💙 Struggling this time of year? You are not alone.

Shorter days, colder weather, and the pressure of the holiday season can take a real toll on emotional well-being. Many people experience increased sadness, stress, or isolation during the winter months. It is okay to talk about it, and it is okay to ask for help.

If you or someone you care about is having a hard time:

✨ Get outside daily, even briefly, for natural light
✨ Stay connected and reach out to someone you trust
✨ Keep a regular sleep schedule when possible
✨ Build in small moments of rest and joy
✨ Seek professional support if symptoms affect daily life

Taking care of your mental health matters during the holidays and every day. Support is available and reaching out is a sign of strength. 💙
