We're pleased to announce Alexander "Alex" Chow and Bill Rapp, two volunteers with Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children's, respectively, have been named two of Providence Business News' 2026 Healthcare Heroes!

Bill volunteers with the Child Life team at Hasbro Children's. "My motivation to volunteer comes from my daughter, Leah," says Bill. "She was a childhood cancer patient at Hasbro Children's 26 years ago, and we spent many days and nights there. Volunteering is a deeply meaningful way for me to give back and honor Leah's memory."

Alex not only volunteers while also studying at Brown University--he worked with team members to develop a simple app that greets patients at main points of entrance at the hospital and guides them to their destinations using photos. Alex developed this app with photos to help overcome language barriers and make it easier for patients to get to their care teams.

Thank you, Bill and Alex, for your incredible service to our patients, and congratulations on this recognition! https://pbn.com/phil-rizzuto-of-rizzuto-eyelid-and-facial-plastic-surgery-pbns-health-care-heroes-career-achiever/?bypass=6998a1717e939
