Colorectal cancer is being diagnosed in younger adults, and screening now begins at age 45 — not 50.

Dr. Nnenna Okpara and Dr. Mariam Fayek of Women & Infants Hospital share why earlier screening matters. Colonoscopies can detect and remove polyps before they become cancerous.

If you’re 45+, it’s time to schedule your screening.

Sharing a little extra love from the NICU!

It’s a sweet tradition at Women & Infants Hospital - babies dressed in tiny, heart-filled outfits to celebrate their first Valentine's Day.

The nonprofit Project Sweet Peas - Southern New England helps make this heartfelt celebration a reality, lifting the spirits of families – and reminding them they are surrounded by love every step of the way.

Alexa and I want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to Women & Infants Hospital and every single person who cared for Alexa and our sweet Romi. ❤️

From the second we arrived, we felt surrounded by strength, compassion, and true professionalism.

Linda, the incredible midwife in the ER, gave Alexa the courage and confidence to try for a natural birth when we weren’t sure what the outcome would be. Her calm reassurance in that moment meant everything.

Dr. Zoglio, your bedside manner was exceptional. You made us feel safe, informed, and truly cared for throughout the process.

Justice and Kathy, the two nurses who stayed by Alexa’s side during labor and delivery, cheering her on through every contraction. You were angels in that room. Your encouragement, energy, and compassion carried us through.

Dr. Coughenour, thank you for safely delivering Romi into this world. That moment will live in our hearts forever.

To all of the incredible nurses on the fifth floor who cared for Alexa during her recovery, your kindness and attentiveness made such a difference in those first precious days as a family of five.

And we also want to sincerely thank the administrative staff. In a time when privacy is so important, you protected our family with professionalism and grace. Working seamlessly with our team and ensuring everything was handled respectfully meant more to us than you know.

You don’t just deliver babies you support families through one of the most life-changing moments of their lives.

Our hearts are so full of gratitude. Thank you for taking such beautiful care of Alexa and Romi. 💕
