This is Jyles!
Jyles is from Toronto, Canada. He earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Wellness at Brigham Young University.
-“My favourite thing about working as a Health Coach is being able to see people develop changes in their lives and being in a position to help them see their potential to succeed and improve their health. I was once in their position, so if I can do it, anyone can!”
-Something Jyles wishes patients understood about health/nutrition/fitness: “Something I wish that all my patients understood is that this is a marathon, not a sprint. The changes they are working towards here may not happen overnight, but with patience, hard work, and consistency, they will be able to achieve great things. Also, try not to compare yourself to anyone else, we all have different paths on this weight loss journey!”
-Jyles’ favorite form of exercise/recreation: “My favourite form of exercise/recreation is strength training and playing a variety of sports, like basketball, football, rugby, and pickleball.”
-His favorite healthy food/snack: “My favourite food/snack is raw fish. I love sushi and poke, or just seafood in general!”
-Other hobbies he enjoys: “My hobbies/talents include cooking (but mostly eating), playing video games, hiking, and learning new languages (I speak 4)”

Merry Christmas from your friends at Revere Weight Loss and Nutrition Center!
Thank you for being part of our community.

We wanted to remind you to not stress about your weight loss goals and to just enjoy the holidays. The following is taken from our Thanksgiving post:

Here are some additional tips that can help you enjoy the holidays!

- Eat a balanced breakfast and lunch so that when you go over to your family dinner, you aren’t famished!

- Stay hydrated throughout the day. This can help hunger and thirst cues be more intact.

- Pick and choose the foods you know you will enjoy! Instead of having every single dessert offered, pick a couple.

- Increase your mindfulness and listen to your body. If you are starting to feel full, save the rest for another time!

- Eat slowly. This will help you be more aware of your hunger cues and improve digestion.

- After you are finished eating, pop a piece of gum or a mint in your mouth. Changing the flavor in your mouth can help curb the desire to continue to eat.

- Suggest going for a walk and getting some fresh air to your family after eating! Changing your environment can help take your mind off eating more food; plus getting physical activity can improve digestion.

- The holidays are meant to be enjoyed. Enjoy a few treats and don’t stress! One day of eating differently is not going to destroy your progress.

This is an easy and healthy holiday snack that tastes really good! Whether you make it for a high protein snack, dessert replacement, or for your next holiday party, this is a must for this time of year! Plus, this recipe can easily be modified to include your favorite holiday flavors.

Ingredients:
3 cups low fat Greek vanilla yogurt (we suggest the Dannon Light and Fit or Oikos Triple Zero)
¼ cup mini dark chocolate chips (or semisweet)
*6 crushed candy canes

Instructions:
-Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper
-Spread the 3 cups of vanilla Greek yogurt onto the baking sheet.
-Sprinkle the chocolate chips and the crushed candy canes on top.
-Freeze until firm (at least 3 hours) then cut or break into pieces to serve.

Store in the freezer.

** You can also replace the toppings with pomegranate, chopped nuts, chopped craisins, orange zest/candied oranges, or any other holiday flavor you love!

Have you ever helped someone when the opportunity presented itself and felt good after?
This Christmas season is the best time to feel joy by reaching out to help those around you. Not only does it make the individual you helped have a better day, but will help you have a better day too.
According to recent studies, helping others can benefit your own mental health by reducing stress, and improving mood, self-esteem and happiness. Since this season can be one of the more stressful seasons of the year, whether it be with the busyness of life or keeping your weight loss goals with the holidays, adding a focus on helping others will help reduce your stress and happiness and allow you to keep moving forward with your goals.

This month’s challenge focuses on random acts of kindness towards those you love and towards the strangers around you.
Here’s the challenge: find one way to intentionally serve/help/love someone around you every day. Write down what you did and how it made you feel!

Share in the comments below an opportunity you had to serve someone recently and how it made you feel OR share about a time when you were served and how that helped your day go better.
