Cold air outside and dry heat inside can leave your skin feeling tight, itchy and uncomfortable. Here are some simple ways to protect and soothe your skin this winter:

• Moisturize often. Apply a thick, fragrance-free cream or ointment right after showering to lock in moisture.
• Keep showers short and lukewarm. Hot water strips your skin’s natural oils.
• Use a humidifier. Adding moisture to the air can help prevent dryness.
• Wear soft fabrics. Avoid wool or rough materials directly on your skin.
• Stay hydrated and eat well. A balanced diet helps nourish skin from the inside out.

If your skin becomes cracked, painful or doesn’t improve, it may be time to talk with a primary care provider (P*P). Need help finding a P*P? Visit the link in the comments or call 918-579-DOCS to schedule an appointment.

As the days get shorter and sunlight fades, many people notice changes in mood, energy and sleep.

You’re not alone — these could be signs of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a type of depression linked to changes in seasons.

There are things you can try to ease the winter blues, like getting sunlight or using a light box, staying active, staying connected, and prioritizing sleep and routine, but sometimes you need to ask for help. Talking to a primary care provider (P*P) can help you find the right support or treatment. To find a P*P and schedule an appointment, visit the link in the comments.
