Congratulations, Dr. Dickerman!

We are pleased to announce that Joel Dickerman, DO, has been named Chief Medical Officer for St. Mary-Corwin Hospital and St. Thomas More Hospital. Dr. Dickerman is on a mission to provide others the support and resources to extend optimal care to all patients. He has served the Southern Colorado region for 30 years as a physician, educator, medical director and physician advisor. We are excited to welcome him to our healing ministries in Pueblo and Canon City!

PCMS is deeply saddened by the death of PCMS board member and emergency medicine physician, Dr. Kevin Weber.

PCMS President Dr. Marcel Junqueira said: "Kevin continuously upheld the PCMS values of caring, commitment, accountability, and excellence. We are especially thankful for the passion he carried in his heart toward his many patients and colleagues within his specialty, Emergency Medicine."

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, at Praise Assembly, 2000 Troy Ave, Pueblo, CO 81001, (719) 544-9486. In lieu of flowers, the family asks those who wish to honor him to consider gifts in Kevin’s name to Trinity Lutheran School, Sangre de Cristo Hospice or the Caring Pregnancy Center. Dr. Weber’s life story may be viewed at www.roselawnpueblo.org.

Dr. Vinh Chung of Vanguard Skin Specialists shares a poignant reflection on treating with compassion current refugees from Afghanistan like he experienced during his own immigration from Vietnam decades ago. "What I’ve learned is that the power of America is not in our military might, but it is in the mighty hearts of the American people." (Subscription required to read on denverpost.com)

The desperate evacuation from Afghanistan jarred our conscience for good reason. For me, it’s because my own family was left behind in Vietnam after Saigon fell in 1975.
